You can do so much more than just check out books and DVDs with your Bucks County library card. You can also download music, e-books and so much more! Stay tuned for the Special Collections – those are my favorite!

The Bucks County library has partnered with online content providers like One Click Digital to provide music and e-books to library card holders.

Axis360 provides ebook and audiobook downloads for children and adults. Fiction and non-fiction titles are available.

Bookflix offers online storybook videos and nonfiction books for children designed for children up to age 8.

Hoopla allows users to borrow videos, music and audiobooks. 

Newsbank offers access to local newspapers, including the Philadelphia Inquirer, Morning Call, The Intelligencer and the Courier Times.

OneClickDigital invites you to download best-selling audiobooks from home!

Power Library connects you to a comprehensive collection of research databases through the services of the Pennsylvania State library!

Zinio includes thousands of magazines that can be easily viewed on your device.

Turn your old VHS tapes into DVDs – and more!

Specialized equipment is available at select Bucks County library locations. While you can use  computers, printers, scanners and WiFi at all library locations, the Doylestown library has specialized digitization equipment you can use for free!

  • DVD/CD duplicator can produce 5 exact copies of a master DVD or CD in less than 10 minutes. Copyrights are enforced!
  • Turn microfilm and microfiche material into JPEGs or PDFs. 
  • Convert slides, films and negatives into digital formats. Bring an SD card and your 35mm, 126mm, 110mm and super 8 film.
  • Convert VHS tapes to DVDs in real time.

An Ellison machine is also available in Doylestown. This machine can be used for cutting paper, fabric and other materials into special shapes for scrapbooking, quilting and other crafts.

Learning Express Library helps you achieve your educational and career goals with tutorials, skill practices, test preparation and eBooks designed to help you succeed. 

Lynda.com provides online video classes in various skills, including business, design and technology. Classes range from beginner to expert!

Feel like heading to the library? You can access these on-site services as well!

Exclusive genealogy resources like Ancestry.com can be used to access census and other historical records for FREE at your local library. (Although you can use some services, like HeritageQuest, from home!)

Got kids? They’ll love Bucks County Library!

Bucks County Library offers many services just for kids and teens! 

Brainfuse Online Tutoring offers live online tutoring in school subjects and assistance with test prep. Skills building lessons, personalized learning tools and a specialized foreign language lab are also available. 

Everyday Reading is an online year-round reading program for kids between the ages of 5 and 14. Participants can earn up to 50 different badges. There are 3 activities per badge. You’ll earn an online badge and a real-life patch that can be picked up from your local library branch!

Cybersmarts is an online safety program that provides interactive eBooks for children between the 3rd and 6th grades.

Explora Research provides search engines specifically designed for elementary school students, middle school students and high school students!

Let’s Play School is an online learning program that awards digital badges and students progress.

Buck County library has some amazing special collections! 

Board and Video Games are available for check-out at all Bucks County Library branches! Available games include Community, Ticket to Ride, Knit Wit, Agricola, The Gauntlet, Codenames, Qwirkle and more.

Cake pans can be checked out also! There are over 100 pans available, including various sizes, tiers and more. Specialty pans, including a balloon, funny rabbit, huggable bear, purse and more, are also available. I LOVE this – and I wish I was local because I would use these pans ALL the time!

Exercise Bags can be checked out from select library locations. They offer a Pilates Exercise Bag, Yoga Exercise Bag, Zumba Exercise Bag and Zumba Gold Exercise Bag. Each bag includes several pieces, such as instructional DVDs, therapy balls, toning sticks, scarves, bell bracelets, carpet gliders, yoga mats and more.

Book Club in a Bag kits include 10 copies of a single book, a discussion guide and background information about the author. Start a book club today with one of these 35+ kits!
