You can get FREE stuff from the Fort Worth library! A resident library card enables you to access Fort Worth Public Library’s online subscription services and so much more.

Here are some of our favorite things about the Fort Worth Library:

FREE family movies! Bring a blanket and enjoy a FREE full-length movie at the library! Family-friendly movies are shown every month. Check the schedule here!

FREE games at the library! Games are always available in the Teen Scene center at the Central Library! Board games, Wii games, Playstation games and more are available at certain times at other locations. Check the schedule here!

Worth Reading encourages adults AND kids to get reading and earn rewards! The ongoing program is divided into four month terms called chapters. You could even earn FREE admission tot he Fort Worth Museum of Science and History!

The library offers the following online subscription services for patrons:

FREE music downloads from Freegal! You can download and keep up to 5 downloads per week (videos use 2 download credits)! Freegal’s database has over 7 million songs and videos, including Sony Music’s catalog of artists. There are no DRM protections on these files – you can keep and use them forever!

FREE eBook downloads are provided by eBooks, Overdrive, Project Gutenberg, the Open Library and ESBSCO eBooks.

FREE audiobook downloads are provided by Overdrive.

Free movie streaming is available from Overdrive also.

Free newspapers are available from Newspaper Source. You can read USA Today, Washington Post, Toronto Star and more absolutely free!

Free magazines are available via Newsstand.

Get a TollTag from the Fort Worth Library!

Follow these instructions to get a TollTag from the Fort Worth Library! You will have to prepay $20 or $40 in toll fees. Once the balance drops below $10, you will be automatically charged to replenish the account.

Check out cool tech at the Fort Worth Library!

Adults can check out Early Literacy iPads for their preschool age children in the Hazel Harvey Peace Youth Center. The iPad cannot leave the Youth Center and must not be left unattended. However, the iPad can be used up to two hours per day!

You can also check out laptops for up to two hours per day in the main library building!

Of course, there are other computers on-site that you can use (and reserve in advance!). The library offers Wi-Fi and you can also print for a nominal fee.

There are special programs just for kids & teens!

Story times  occur throughout the week! There are several different story time programs, including Preschool Story Times, Family Story Times, Bearly Bedtime Story Times, Bilingual Story Times and more!

GO Centers provide teens with information about college resources.

Don’t forget to participate in Worth Reading! You could even earn FREE admission tot he Fort Worth Museum of Science and History!

Learn new skills with online and offline Fort Worth library resources!

On-site computer classes are available from Forth Worth Library! The classes are free but some may require advance registration. Classes cover many topics, including basic computer classes, PC basics, job skills, Microsoft Office suite training and social media usage.

The Online Computer Skills Center provides courses in basic computing, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop and more.

Use the Job & Career Accelerator to browse local and national job and intership offerings, explore over 1,000 different occupations, create stunning resumes and cover letters, practice interviewing skills and more!

Learning Express Library provides test preparation for job and college placement tests, citizenship exams, and occupational licensing exams. You can get help preparing for tests like ACT, AP, ASVAB, CLEP, COMPASS, GED, LSAT, MCAT, PSAT, SAT, US. Citizenship and more! Click here to use this service in Spanish.

Learn a new language with PronunciatorThis system will help you learn to speak, read and write in any of 80 languages. The program features live tutors, films, music with lyrics, pronunciation analysis and more. It also provides ESL services for more than 50 non-English languages!

Browse the library’s extensive online database subscriptions! You can access the entire Chilton Auto Repair library, use genealogy programs like HeritageQuest and more!

Get FREE tax assistance and voter registration help at the Fort Worth Library!

Each year, AARP volunteers provide free income tax assistance at the library. Click here to see the schedule!

You can also register to vote at the library! Just ask staff for assistance.
