15 Must-See Nebraska EBT Discounts and Perks

Don’t miss out on these Nebraska EBT discounts! With your food stamps card, you can save money on everything from Amazon Prime to museum admission.

Many cardholders aren’t aware of the incredible EBT discounts that they are eligible for, so they end up spending more money than they need to or missing out on amazing opportunities to make memories with their families.

In this guide, we’ll share all of the EBT discounts we’ve found in the great state of Nebraska.

Nationwide EBT Discounts

There are some incredible EBT discounts available nationwide! No matter what state you live in, you can take advantage of these great deals.

Amazon Prime: 50% EBT Discount

You can save up to 50% off your Amazon Prime membership when you claim your Nebraska EBT discount! You just need to visit their website and upload a picture of your EBT card to get started. This discount is available for new and existing customers, so be sure to apply right away!

With Amazon Access, you’ll get free shipping and free streaming for about half the price. Many of our readers have found that this is worth it for the streaming services alone, since the discount makes Amazon Prime one of the cheaper streaming services.

Phone Bill: FREE with EBT

If you qualify for food stamps, then you also qualify for the Lifeline program! This program provides free monthly cell service for low income Americans. Some providers (like Safelink or TruConnect) may even provide a free cell phone when you sign up!

If you are interested in completely eliminating your cell phone bill, check out this list of free phone providers!

Internet: $30 EBT Discount

If you qualify for food stamps, then you also qualify for many low income internet plans like Comcast Internet Essentials! These programs have been helping low income families save money on their internet bills for over a decade.

When you combine those benefits with your Affordable Connectivity Program benefits, then you can save even more money! The ACP program can provide a $30 discount on your internet bill every month, which can completely wipe out the cost of your internet plan.

If you currently spend more than $5 per month on your internet bill, you really need to check out our guide on how to get free internet.

Double Up Food Bucks

This is one of my favorite Nebraska EBT discounts! When you visit a Double Up Food Bucks location, you can get twice as much food as you pay for! That’s because these locations double the value of EBT purchases. If you spend $10, you’ll get $20 worth of food.

Not every farmer’s market participates in this program but many do! We have a list of participating farmer’s markets, farm stands and other providers in our Nebraska Double Up directory. Check it out!

YMCA: Sliding Scale Discounts

The YMCA usually offers low income scholarships that can help you save money on your membership. It is part of the YMCA mission to serve all people regardless of socioeconomic status.

The YMCA of Greater Omaha offers a Financial Assistance Program. Through this program, the amount you pay will be determined using a sliding scale based on your household income. You’ll need to recertify your income every 12 months to keep your discount. You can apply on their website.

The Lincoln YMCA’s program is called the Open Doors Financial Assistance Program. This program can give you access to their child care, youth programs, and health services. This program can reduce your fees but it won’t completely eliminate them, so you’ll still have to pay something toward your membership. You can apply on their website but it can take up to 15 days to process your completed application. Make sure to apply a few weeks before your plan your first visit!

Other Discounts

If you have Nebraska EBT, then you may be eligible for other discounts as well! There are so many programs that exist to help low income Americans and the Low Income Relief team is here to find them all! We spend countless hours searching for ways to help you make ends meet.

Here are some other things that may be able to help you:

Get Cash Back with Ibotta!

When you shop with your Nebraska EBT card, be sure to scan your receipts with Ibotta! If you purchase eligible items, you may be able to get cashback rebate on your purchase. They often have bonuses that will give you money back for scanning any receipt from an eligible store, so this is a great way to get a little more money for essentials.

You can get started by downloading the Ibotta app. Use the referral code LOWINCOMERELIEF to get your welcome bonus!

Nebraska EBT Discounts

There are so many Nebraska EBT discounts around the state! You could use your card to save money on everything from groceries to museum admission. It’s incredible!

You cannot pay for admission with your EBT benefits. Although you will need to show your card to get the discount, you cannot use the card to pay for admission. You’ll need to have another payment method, like cash or debit, available to pay the remaining balance (if any).

You can use out-of-state EBT cards at certain museums. In our list, we use green titles to indicate which museums participate in Museums for All. This is a nationwide EBT discount program that helps low income people get affordable entry into museums all around the country. You can use an EBT card from any state to get a discount at Museums for All locations.

Your local library may also have discounted passes! If you don’t find the destination you were hoping to visit on this list, don’t forget that you may be able to get free admission with a library pass! Many destinations throughout Nebraska offer discounted passes through the local library system.

Check nearby states for more discounts! If you’re visiting another state, be sure to check our EBT discount list for that state so you can see the other places you might be able to go for free or cheap!

More Details About Nebraska EBT

I have learned a lot about Nebraska EBT over the last 10 years that I’ve been running Low Income Relief. In this section, I’m going to take a quick break from Nebraska EBT discounts and share some details about your benefits that many people simply don’t know.

You can apply online. Over the years, I’ve heard from countless people who have said that they don’t want to apply for benefits because they’re too embarrassed to go into the office. If you don’t have the time, energy or desire to apply in person, that’s okay! You can apply online using the official ACCESSNebraska website.

You can buy fruit trees, seeds, and plant starts! Some areas in Nebraska are considered food deserts, which means that there aren’t a lot of grocery stores or places to buy fresh, affordable food. If you live in a rural area, it may be more economical for you to purchase gardening supplies and grow your own food at home. You can use your Nebraska EBT benefits to purchase seeds, starts and even fruit trees so that you can grow your own healthy food at home!

You can shop at farms. Many farmer’s markets, farm stands, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) services and even pick-your-own fields are set up to accept EBT nowadays. Some will even help you double up your food benefits so that you can get more food for your money!

You may be eligible for more food benefits. We’ve heard from countless seniors and other low income families that are only getting the bare minimum food stamps allotment. It’s hard to get by on less than $30 per month in food benefits! Over the years, we’ve found that many people aren’t getting the right amount of benefits due to errors in their paperwork. Here’s how to get more food stamps.

Summary

There are many amazing Nebraska EBT discounts around the state! Get discounted museum tickets, big savings on Amazon Prime, and affordable cell and internet plans. Don’t miss out on these extra perks designed to make life easier for low-income households. Want to learn more? We’ve got even more helpful low-income programs in Nebraska.

I just found out Walmart+ memberships are 50% off for EBT recipients, thought you might want to add that one to the list. It won't let me post the link but it's called a Walmart+ Assist membership. If you already have a full price membership they will refund a portion.
