I’ve been updating this list for years now, and I’ve learned quite a bit along the way. There are some things that many people don’t know about Rhode Island food stamps!

Apply for RI EBT online. I’ve had many people tell me that the only reason they don’t have food stamps is because they’re too embarrassed to go into the office. You can apply online and skip the lines!

You could qualify for more food stamps funds! When I was receiving food stamps, I filled out the paperwork completely wrong. I didn’t know it at the time but I could’ve received hundreds of dollars per month in extra food stamps! Get discounted admission with your RI EBT card!

For your convenience, we’ve organized our free and discounted museum admission list alphabetically by city. Museums with green titles are Museums for All participants, which accept EBT cards from all 50 states.

Your Rhode Island EBT card can be used at any Museums for All partner in any other state! Check out our lists for nearby Connecticut, Massachusetts and the rest of the United States.

It is important to realize that you cannot pay for admission with your EBT card. You will show the EBT card to receive the discount but you will need to pay the remaining admission price, if any, in cash or with a credit/debit card.

Bristol

Blithewold – $3 or less per person

Blithewold is a 33 acre estate with incredible views of the bay. The property also features a 45-room mansion filled with period pieces and family heirlooms. Step into New England’s history at Blithewold estate!

Coggeshall Farm Museum – $3 per person

The Coggeshall Farm Museum spans 48 acres of coastal farmland and recreates the daily experiences of tenant farmers on the marsh in the 18th century.

Newport

Newport Art Museum – FREE

Since 1912, Newport Art Museum has positioned itself as a cultural gathering place for anyone with an interest in art. In addition to a permanent collection and rotating exhibits, the Newport Art Museum also offers concerts, live theater, art and book talks, family workshops and more throughout the year. Show your RI EBT card, to receive free admission for you and three other people.

Newport Mansions (Preservation Society of Newport County) – $2 per person

Up to four people can visit the Newport Mansions for $2 per person with a single WIC or EBT card! The discount is not valid for specialty tours or events.

The Sailing Museum – $3 or less per person

As a Museums for All member, The Sailing Museum welcomes low income families at a discount! This museum celebrates the experience of sailing, the mental and physical grit of sailors, the teamwork and competition aspects of sailing and the sailing legends in the Hall of Fame.

Pawtucket

Cape Verdean Museum – $3 or less per person

This museum celebrates the rich, complex and controversial history of the Cape Verde region. Guests with an EBT card can visit for $3 or less per person.

Providence

John Brown House Museum – FREE

Built in 1788, this house once belonged to well-known merchant, patriot, politician and slave trader John Brown. You can walk through the mansion and experience what it was like to live in the US at the end of the 18th century.

Guests with EBT cards should select “complimentary” tickets when booking online. Up to 4 people can enter for free with your EBT card. Or people are welcome to call the museum at 401-273-7507, x368 to book your tickets over the phone.

Lippitt House – FREE

Step into Providence’s Golden Age with this preserved Victorian house museum. The Lippitt House is a National Historic Landmark. They offer both guided and self-guided tours.

Providence Children’s Museum – $2 per person

EBT cardholders can play at Providence Children’s Museum for just $2 per person! You and 3 others can get admission at this great price, when you show your RI EBT card. Exhibits focus on learning through play, including water play, a children’s garden and a two story climbing maze.

RISD Museum – FREE

Established in 1977, RISD Museum, which is affiliated with the Rhode Island School of Design, currently holds a collection of more than 100,000 works of art dating back to ancient times.

Woonsocket

Museum of Work & Culture – FREE

The Museum of Work & Culture includes nine immersive exhibits, audio and film presentations and hands-on activities. It’s free for up to four people per EBT card!

Statewide

Historic New England – $2 per person

Historic New England operates 4 historic locations across Rhode Island. These locations are all participating in Museums for All and charge $2 per person, for up to four people per EBT card.
