Clallam County PUD customers may be able to get discounts, deposit waivers and more! We’ve even found agencies that will help you pay your Clallam County PUD bill!
New customers can get a deposit waiver!
The worst part of establishing new utility service is having to pay a deposit. New customers can avoid this if they have a good credit score or good payment history on a previous PUD account!
Everyone can get payment arrangements!
If you need payment arrangements, the first thing you should do is contact Clallam County PUD itself. They have a number of helpful payment arrangement plans.
One of my favorites is the Average Payment Plan. This plan averages your annual usage into twelve equal payments. Instead of paying more in the winter and less in other seasons, you’ll pay one consistent amount each month. Customers can sign up at any time. If you haven’t been a Clallam County PUD customer for 12 months yet, they’ll recalculate your amount every three months until you’ve been there a year.
Clallam County PUD helps ensure your home is as energy-efficient as possible!
Another helpful service offered by the Clallam County PUD is the DIY home energy audit. They recommend every customer use this tool to identify possible defects in the home that could cause extra energy expenses. Basically, it helps you identify ways to save money on your power bill.
Customers can also check out a “Watt Detector” kit from local participating libraries. These kits include a Kill-A-Watt detector device that can measure how much energy is being consumed through an outlet. This information is particularly helpful in determining how to save money on your power bill.
Additionally, Clallam County PUD offers rebates for select improvements! You can potentially get rebates when you purchase light bulbs, high efficiency replacement windows, high efficiency heat pumps, insulation and even more.
Low income seniors and disabled customers can get discounts!
Clalllam County PUD offers discounts to low income seniors and low income disabled customers.
Seniors who are at least 62 years old may qualify for a discount. You will need to prove that you have a household income limit $25,000 or less in order to participate. Two forms of ID (such as a Photo ID and social security card) are required to process the application for this program.
Disabled customers can also receive a discount if their household income is 125% of the federal poverty level or less. You will need to show both proof of income and verification of disability to receive this. The service must be established in the disabled person’s name to qualify.
