Dumb Friends League (Denver)
This facility provides low-cost spay and neuter services for your Colorado pets, primarily cats, though they will also help with pit bulls and pit bull mixed breeds. Cash, checks, and card are accepted forms of payment. You’ll only have to pay $25 per cat. Appointments are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays. For more information, you can click here. Routt County Humane Society (Steamboat Springs)
Routt County Humane Society boasts a low-cost spay and neuter clinic every Thursday for your Colorado pets. Here’s a brief description from their website:
“RCHS is pleased to offer a low-cost spay/neuter clinic to income-qualified patrons. Services will be provided to income-qualified patrons. Verification of annual income of under $40,000 is required at the time of service.“

Ark-Valley Humane Society (Buena Vista)
Ark-Valley only offers services to those who live in Chaffee County and you must be considered low-income. Their spay and neuter surgeries are definitely on the affordable side, especially since they only cater to low-income patients. Additionally, their website provides plenty of information so you’ll go into your Colorado pets’ procedures armed with knowledge. Pet Food Banks/Pantries
Colorado Pet Pantry (Statewide)
Colorado Pet Pantry operates 74 pet food banks in the state for your Colorado pets. Here’s a brief statement from their site:
“Clients of the pet food bank are eligible to receive pet food from the Colorado Pet Pantry every two months. Clients will be asked to fill out a registration form and agree to this statement “I understand that supplemental pet food is provided for my existing family pets only. New pets added after registration will not be served. Supplemental pet food is not intended to cover 100% of needs, clients are eligible every other month. I hereby agree to forever release Colorado Pet Pantry from any and all liabilities in any way related to, or arising from, participation in the pet food bank.”

PawsCo (Denver)
PawsCo boasts a wonderful Pet Food Drive program for low-income owners and their Colorado pets.
“The Food Bank of the Rockies has identified a need of 10,000 pounds of pet food each month to meet the requests from their food banks, and PawsCo’s goal is to support the 120,000 pounds of pet food needed to keep pets with their families. The ongoing drive collects dry and canned animal food and distributes it to families in need through a partnership with the Food Bank of the Rockies. PawsCo partnerships allow us to purchase food at a fraction of the cost, ultimately feeding more pets.”

Colorado Animal Rescue (Glenwood Springs)
The C.A.R.E. Pet Food Bank of Colorado Animal Rescue is there to provide free food for your Colorado pets amid your time of need.
“The C.A.R.E. Pet Food Bank is in place to assist low-income pet-owners or those experiencing hardship within Garfield County. Food is available at the shelter (as available). By supplementing food during times of extreme need, we hope to decrease the amount of animals surrendered due to the cost of proper nutrition. Ark Valley Humane Society (Chaffee County)
The Pet Emergency Medical Fund is specifically for Colorado pets that have been in a life-altering accident or need vital surgery, but they have a good prognosis. Friends Rescued Animal Network (Statewide)
Friends Rescued Animal Network was founded in 2006 as an organization to help Colorado pets in need. They provide grants to families with furry loved ones requiring emergency treatment. LAPS (Summit County)
LAPS has been proudly serving Summit County since 1990. They offer financial assistance for lower-income residents and Colorado pets in dire need of medical treatment.
