7 Things You Need to Know about Connecticut Food Stamps
After years of reporting on low income and food stamps topics, I’ve learned that there are several things that most people don’t know about their Connecticut EBT benefits.
- Apply for Connecticut EBT online on the government website. This is the fastest and easiest way to apply for food benefits.
- Know what you can buy. Most people don’t know that they can buy seeds, plants and some gift baskets with EBT. We’ve got all the info, straight from the USDA!
- Shop smart. You may be able to get more food for your money at farmer’s markets and You-Pick Strawberry Fields!
- You may be eligible for more food stamps than you are getting. Many people are getting less than they should because they don’t get credit for all their deductions.
- You may be able to get cash back from your food stamps card legally by using rewarded shopping apps. One of our readers earned an additional $437.84 in cash just by shopping with her food stamps card!
- You can shop at bulk stories, farmer’s markets and more! If you’ve got food stamps in CT, you may be able to shop with your food stamps a Costco, Schwans, and other unusual retailers. We’ll show you where!
- You can get free admission with your EBT card in other states. The Museums for All program invites everyone with an EBT card to get free or discounted admission, even if you are from a different state… so don’t forget to see what your EBT card can do in other states!
