Family Service Center partners with several churches, charities, and non-profit organizations to offer those in need the Tree Of Wishes. The Tree Of Wishes allows parents to write their child’s gift ideas on a paper ornament and hang them on the wish tree found at multiple businesses throughout Sangamon County. Willing patrons pick an ornament, buy the toys, and then return them to the business in a large bag with the ornament inside.

First Presbyterian Church has provided residents of Sangamon County with the Christmas Joy Offering for nearly 70 years. This special offering invites all low-income, working poor, or less fortunate families to their church where they give all visitors free toys, clothing, games, and holiday dinner boxes. Furthermore, they have an on-site food pantry that anyone in need can visit to get free food boxes.

Kumler Outreach Ministries holds a Stuff the Truck event every year to supply families in need with enough food to feed them for a month. This collected food is distributed to families who have previously registered and live within the Sangamon and neighboring counties. They also offer a free store at the church for the needy to pick out free items that they would like to have for Christmas.

Salvation Army offers several services to low-income families and the working poor in Sangamon County and neighboring counties. Free bags of groceries and holiday food boxes are available at the food pantry, while hot meals are served everyday at the soup kitchen. Holiday dinners get served during Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas at the soup kitchen including turkey and all the fixings. They also offer free toys for families with children under the age of 12 through the Angel Tree Program, where families in need get paired with sponsors who are willing to help.

Toys For Tots puts toy drop boxes all across the United States to collect toys for children from low-income families. Once collected, the toys will go to families on their registry. Low-income families can ask for toys for their children by visiting their website and clicking the request toys option. They only serve families with children 12 years of age or younger and you must meet their income by family size criteria.

Real Life Church provides residents of Sangamon county with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner boxes during the holidays for those struggling to make ends meet.

It's Christmas eve and the cupboard is bare a 5 year old boy who still believes Santa will come my 18 year old son 17 year old daughter and a couple in there 20s all to proud to ask for help first time we ever went hungry anyone still there need help
