Get FREE Christmas Gifts in Peoria, IL!
Neighborhood House Association provides a Toy Shop program every year. This program provides holiday gifts for children age 10 and under. There is a $10 participation fee per child. Registration begins November 8th and ends in early December.
Parents are asked to provide a photo ID, birth certificate or insurance/medical card for each child and proof of employment, unemployment and/or school enrollment. To qualify, you must reside in Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Marshall, Putnam or Stark county.
Salvation Army provides Christmas assistance. You can sign up beginning November 1st. Gifts and food are distributed in mid-December, about one week before the holiday. You will need to provide proof of address, medical/insurance cards or birth certificates for all children and photo ID for all adults. Please provide pay stubs or a LINK card to prove income.
Toys for Tots enrollment is available.
Woodford County Heartline provides Christmas food and gifts to families who reside within Woodford County boundaries. Those with children up to age 17 can apply by calling (309) 467-6101. (Please note I”m including this only because Woodford County is considered part of the Peoria metropolitan area; most Peoria residents may not be eligible because of the county restriction)

Peoria Rescue Mission provides a Christmas Day meal to anyone who is hungry. The service begins at 11am and the meal is served at noon.
South Side Mission provides Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for hungry residents in the community. The meals are served at 11:30am on Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

Bradley Epworth United Methodist Church provides a food pantry on the first Friday of each month.
Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Peoria provides a food pantry, car seats, diapers, baby food, substance abuse counseling, anger management, and much more.
Catholic Charities can provide food, diapers, baby formula and more to those who need it. You will need to call (309) 671-1550 for an appointment.
Common Place provides assistance to all Peoria County residents. You can get food from Common Place once per month.
First United Methodist Church provides assistance with food, bus fare, clothing, driver’s license fees, free transit passes, prescriptions, personal grooming supplies and so much more. Get the details here.

Hidden Manna Food Pantry provides groceries to Peoria area residents in need. Please bring a box or bag for your groceries! Hidden Manna also provides a Thanksgiving Day meal between 12pm and 2pm.
