Adopt-A-Family works closely with parents who are struggling to provide gifts and food for their children during the holiday season. They partner with many social service agencies in the area and give them a list of request from the parents. These items get purchased and delivered to the parents before Christmas arrives to brighten their Christmas and lessen the stress they are facing. Must provide proof of residency, birth certificates for all eligible children under the age of 18 years old, and have a list of income and expenses. This form allows parents to send what they want for their children and they will get a confirmation email when their items are ready for pick up. In addition, they offer a Sponsor-A-Child program where community members get paired with families in need and buy toys, clothing, games, and gift cards for that family. To participate, applicants must pre-register, provide birth certificates for all children in their household, have a list of income and expenses, and show a valid for of identification.
Salvation Army offers their services to low-income parents who need help during the holiday season. Recipients receive canned and pre-packaged foods, fruits, vegetables, rice, beans, and meats.
