Jackson County Christmas Charities aims to help families in need living in Jackson County with their Adopt-A-Family program. This program helps connect families in need with sponsors who buy the families clothing, toys, food, and more for Christmas. Each family receives these gifts just before Christmas, giving each child something to open on Christmas morning. To take part in their services, applicants must have at least one child aged 17 years old or younger, provide social security cards for each member of the family, have a valid form of identification, show proof of current address in Jackson County, and meet their income guidelines.
Salvation Army offers the Angel Tree program for low-income families who cannot give their children presents during the holiday season. Families connect with sponsors who buy the toys, clothing, gift certificates, and food the family needs and delivers them just before Christmas.
