Families Helping Families holds an annual Christmas party for children in foster care, children adopted through the foster care system, and children placed in relative or approved placement. This Christmas party offers free Christmas toys and gifts, face painting, entertainment, games, pictures with Santa, and more.

Salvation Army has an Angel Tree program for low-income families that need help getting Christmas presents for their children. This program pairs families with sponsors who buy the items families want for Christmas and deliver them to the families. More over, they also offer a food pantry giving away free Christmas dinner boxes and a soup kitchen that offers hot holiday meals on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. To take part in their program, applicants must have a child aged newborn to 12 years old in their home, have a birth certificate for all children and social security cards for all adults in the residence, meet their income requirements, have proof of income and household expenses, and have a valid form of identification.

Toys For Tots places donation boxes and holds an annual toy drive across the United States to help give Christmas presents to children of low-income families that cannot afford gifts during the holidays. Parents must register their child for the program by clicking on the request toys link on their website. In addition, families must meet the income requirements based on their household size, show proof of income and household expenses, have a valid form of identification, have a birth certificate for each child in the home and a social security card for each adult in the household, and they must have at least one child aged newborn to 12 years old.
