Family Giving Tree created the holiday wish program that gives toys to children who otherwise wouldn’t receive them. Children receive these toys, donated by community members, shortly before the holidays.

Salvation Army distributes toys during the holidays to children whose parents cannot afford them. Community members and organizations donate toys for children through the organization’s toy drive. In addition, they offer food boxes for the holidays filled with all the ingredients for a holiday dinner, and hot well-balanced meals at the shelter. To receive toys from this program, applicants must show proof of residency, have proof of income to verify income eligibility, have one child between the ages of newborn to 14 years old, provide birth certificates for all eligible children, have a social security card for all person(s) in the home over the age of 18, and have a valid form of identification. Sunnyvale Community Services invites registered families in need to their Holiday Cheer Center, where they get extra food for the holidays, pick out toys for their children, and get gifts for their home.

Toys For Tots gathers donations from donors during their annual toy drive. These donations include new, unopened toys that get distributed to low-income children living in Santa Clara County. Parents must register each child aged newborn to 14 years old to participate in the program. Loaves and Fishes invites those in need to visit their establishment for free bags of groceries. These bags of groceries contain fresh fruits and vegetables, beans, tuna, milk, peanut butter, and more. Additionally, those who need extra help can receive hot meals at their soup kitchen.

Sacred Heart offers a 3-day supply of groceries to low-income families. Families can pick up food twice each month. Moreover, they offer a clothing closet, providing families with five articles of clothing, shoes, linens, and books.

St. Joseph’s Family Center provides food assistance to low income families with supplemental food baskets every week. They also distribute fresh produce once a week.
