The Greenville Public Library has partnered with some of the best attractions in New England! Your library membership opens doors to discounted tickets as well as free admission for you.
The Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum is known as the “American Garden Treasure” by the thousands that visit each year. The former summer estate rests on 33 acres and includes a historic mansion as well as expansive gardens. With your library card, you can get up to six discounted tickets. Adult tickets are $7 while youth tickets (age 6 – 17) are only $2. Children under 2 years of age enter for free.
The Boston Children’s Museum is one of the most popular children’s museums in the country. The museum has been offering activities for children for nearly 100 years. You can get 50% off admission for up to four people with a pass from the Greenville Public Library.
The EcoTarium Museum of Science and Nature is a family-centric science and nature museum located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Formerly known as the New England Science Center, the EcoTarium offers permanent and rotating exhibits that let visitors discover nature. With your library card, you can get 50% admission for two adults as well as two children. Kids under the age of two enter free.
The Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center is dedicated to educating the public on the history and culture of the indigenous people of New England. The center offers an Indigenous Fine Art Market, a restaurant celebrating native food, and a series of interesting exhibits. You can get $5 up to four tickets for adults as well as children with your library card. The pass also offers a 10% discount off the restaurant and gift shop.
The Rhode Island School of Design Art Museum is one of the 20 largest art museums in the United States. The museum, located on the RISD campus, offers tons of amazing art exhibits from throughout history. With your Greenville Public Library card, you can get free admission for two adults. What’s more, children always enter free. The pass also gets you a 10% discount at the gift shop.
The Museum of Fine Art – Boston is one of America’s best educational attractions. The museum is known for their series of historic paintings as well as their collection of Revolutionary-era artwork and artifacts. With your library card, you can get $10 off admission for two people.
The Mystic Aquarium really is a special place. It is best known for their Stellar sea lion exhibit as well as their beluga whale exhibit. In fact, the beluga whale exhibit is the largest in the United States! With your library card, you can get $5 off admission for up to four people.
The New England Quilt Museum is located in Lowell, Massachusetts. Founded in 1987, the museum is the second-oldest institution dedicated to the art of quilting in the United States. You can get free admission to the museum with your Greenville Public Library card.
The Providence Children’s Museum is Rhode Island’s premiere children’s attraction. The museum has tons of hands-on exhibits as well as a series of challenging mazes. You can get 50% off up to four tickets, but children under the age of one enter free.
The Roger Williams Park Zoo has plenty of exotic animals. From red pandas to giant anteaters, the zoo has everything you could ask for when it comes to wild animals. In addition, the zoo also has acres of rolling green space available for use. With your library card, you can get $3 off up to four tickets. Children under two enter free.
Borrow a Telescope from the Greenville Public Library!
Want to explore the stars? The Greenville Public Library has three powerful telescopes available on loan. You can keep the telescope for a week with no renewals. There is usually a waiting list. However, to enter your name please call 401-949-3630 ext. 1.
The telescopes are Orion StarBlast 4.5” Astro Reflectors. These powerful telescopes also include a compass and eyepieces. Each telescope comes with a binder of instructions, star maps, guides, and more. You can watch an instructional video here. In fact, the library also offers an online gallery of astrophotography photos to enjoy.
Borrow an eReader from the Greenville Public Library!
The Greenville Public Library has four types of eReader available to borrow: Leap Pads, Nooks, Kindles, and iPad Minis. You can check out each device for one week. However, renewals are only available for one additional week. If a device isn’t turned in on time, late charges are $2 per day. Much like with the telescopes, there is usually a waitlist for an eReader. To add your name to the list, call 401-949-3630.

There are plenty of fun, FREE events to choose from at the Greenville Public Library. You can enjoy several book clubs as well as discussion groups covering different subjects. There are movie matinees and workout groups open to library members each week. There are even fish fly tying lessons every Thursday night at 6 pm.
