With college campuses closing around the US, many students are being encouraged to return home without means to actually do so. Fortunately, we’ve found several companies that are willing to help.

Enterprise Rent-a-Car
The College Student Travel Assistance program is in effect through May 31, 2020. During this time, Enterprise has reduced the minimum age for vehicle rentals and is waiving young renter fees.
Through this program, students between the ages of 18 and 24 can rent a vehicle. You will need to present an official student ID at a US location.
U-Haul Self Storage
U-Haul is offering 30 days of free self-storage to anyone who needs it. This limited-time offer is subject to availability. Details here.
Hotel Discounts
At least three Chicago-area hotels are offering discounted overnight rates to students who have been displaced due to coronavirus.
Other hotels may begin participating as more colleges close. If you need a place to stay, I would recommend calling your local hotel and asking if they have any special rates for displaced students. The worst they can do is say no!
