The Lincoln Public Library offers a robust selection of borrowable devices that includes launchpads, Kindles, and mobile hotspots. If you lose the device you must pay the $80 replacement fee. There is also a $15 fee for lost power cords and a $5 fee for missing batteries. Electronic devices are available at the circulation desk from 9:30 A.M. each morning until 1 hour before the library closes each day. You must sign an agreement to pay a penalty for losing the device.
The library offers launchpads that come loaded with a large selection of games and educational apps. You don’t need internet connectivity to use these devices.
Additionally, the Lincoln Public Library Kindle program is open to borrowers age 18 and up. You must also be in good standing. You can check out these devices for a maximum of 3 weeks with no renewals allowed. However, you’re only allowed to check out one device at a time. The late fee for a Kindle is $2 per day.
Finally, If you are without an internet connection the library has you covered with their loaner mobile hotspots. The hotspot works anywhere you can connect to the T-Mobile network. You can check the devices out for up to 3 weeks on a first-come, first-served basis.
