Want to read your favorite digital content free from the confines of the library? You can do it with a Kindle borrowed from the Louttit Library. The library has two Kindles in circulation. The eReader can be checked out for up to 21 days and both are first come, first served. But it’s worth noting only residents of West Greenwich are eligible to use this service. The Kindles come with e-books preloaded. Even better, the Louttit Library purchases six new e-books each year based on member requests. If there’s something you’d like to read you can suggest it to the library staff at the circulation desk. The library might just purchase your desired title!

The Louttit Library has plenty of events each week. The library celebrates a number of annual events as well as regularly scheduled programs. You can find more information on these events from the online event calendar located on the Library homepage. The Spring Fair is hosted on Good Friday every spring. It includes a small petting zoo, story readers, and coloring for children. Another popular annual event is the Touch-a-Truck. Every July, the West Greenwich Police and Fire Departments bring their fire engines, dump trucks, and police cruisers to the library. Children are invited to play and explore with each vehicle.
The Louttit Library also offers weekly and monthly children’s events. The Library hosts a Storytime every Monday and Wednesday all year long. It includes stories, songs, crafts, and finger puppet plays. The library also regularly holds movie showings and craft events. You will need to call the library for dates and times.
The library offers plenty to adults as well! The library hosts events a number of regularly scheduled events for grownups too. The Louttit Library hosts a Book and Film Group every 4 to six weeks. The group meets to discuss a book then watch the movie adaptation. The library also hosts a series of programs targeting seniors. These include everything from workouts to discussions on health and legal issues.
