Humane Society A.L.L. of Madison County (Richmond)
Humane Society Animal League for Life (A.L.L.) of Madison County in Richmond provides low-cost spay/neuter services for your beloved Kentucky pets. Male and female felines are $35 and $40, respectively, while male and female canines cost $50 and $60. If animals exceed a certain weight limit, then an extra fee is included. Critters Without Litters (Harrodsburg)
Critters Without Litters is a 501c3 non-profit organization that boasts exceptional low-cost spay and neuter services. They provide top-tier pre-op and post-operative care for your Kentucky pets as well. Pet Food Banks/Pantries
No Kill Louisville (Louisville)
No Kill Louisville offers free food to lower-income families and their Kentucky pets. They distribute said free food on the first and third Saturday of every month from 12 pm to 4 pm. You must complete an application in order to receive assistance. In addition, approved applicants won’t be able to pick up food more than once a month. Kentucky Humane Society (Louisville)
This statewide humane society no longer boasts a drive-thru pet food bank. That being said, they can provide free food for your Kentucky pets. You’ll need to complete an application for pet food assistance. This is highly recommended, especially if you’ve been financially impacted by COVID-19. Lexington Humane Society (Lexington)
Lexington Humane Society offers a wonderful pet food bank for low-income owners and their Kentucky pets. Distribution dates are Monday through Friday from 11 am to 4 pm. Free Temporary Care
The Center for Women and Families (Louisville and Shelbyville)
If you’re in dire need of finding a temporary home for your Kentucky pets while escaping a domestic violence situation, the Kentucky Humane Society offers foster services. The Center for Women and Families has a pet room on the premises for your furry loved ones while arrangements are made with the KHS. Your pets may be fostered for up to 60 days while you take care of yourself and your needs. While in the care of the KHS, pets will receive medical attention and spay/neutering if necessary. Call 1-844-237-2331 if you’re ever in danger. Their hotline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Veterinary Care Grants/Assistance
HOPE for Pets (Statewide)
The Jordan Memorial Fund via HOPE for Pets is committed to providing medical assistance to senior citizens with Kentucky pets. They help said seniors keep up with veterinary expenses and ensure that they won’t have to give up their furry friend because of lack of funds.
