Is EBTEdge Legit? What You Need to Know

In this guide, we’ll break down what EBTEdge is, how it works, and how to tell if you’re using an official service.

    What is EBTEdge?

EBTEdge is a free online platform and mobile app. It is managed by FIS Global, a trusted financial technology company that handles EBT transactions for many states.

This service allows EBT cardholders to:

    • Check SNAP & cash benefit balances
    • View recent transactions and deposits
    • Change PIN
    • Find participating retailers that accept EBT
    • Lock or unlock your card (in many states)
    • Report a lost or stolen card

Many state governments have partnered with EBTEdge to offer helpful services to cardholders. This service is currently available in many states, including but not limited to Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Virgin Islands, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

    Is EBTEdge Safe to Use?

Yes—as long as you’re using the official website or app.

It’s important to be careful because EBT scammers have created fake lookalike websites that steal EBT card numbers and PINs. Always verify that you’re on the real site before entering your details.

    How to Use EBTEdge

To safely log into your account, follow these steps:

    1. Go directly to ebtedge.com.
    2. Do NOT click on links from texts, emails, or social media. They could be phishing scams! Always type in the website address yourself to be sure.
    3. Check the website address carefully. It should be ebtedge.com with a secure padlock in the browser bar.

If you’re using the mobile app, make sure you download EBTEdge by FIS Global from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

How to Spot an Imposter Site

Scammers often create fake sites that look just like the real EBTEdge website. Here’s how to tell if a site is fraudulent:

    • The website address is slightly different (e.g., ebtedge.net instead of ebtedge.com)
    • The site asks for your Social Security number (EBTEdge never does)
    • It pressures you to enter your card info quickly
    • The app isn’t from FIS Global in the app store

To stay safe, make sure you bookmark the official website and NEVER enter your PIN on a website. When in doubt, make sure you contact your state’s EBT customer service line by calling the number on the back of your card.

    Relief Recap

EBTEdge is a real platform used by many states to help SNAP recipients manage their benefits. It’s legit and you can trust it. Just be careful, because scammers try to imitate the official site to steal EBT funds.

1 thought on “Is EBTEdge Legit? What You Need to Know”

      1. I might have been scammed, as the FIS EBT Edge Portal did require my social security number. What can I do about this? I was referred to this website by Colorado CDHS in an email.
