Have you heard about the Pacific Science Center EBT discount?! It’s one of my family’s absolute favorites. We’ve used it for years and our kids practically grew up at this place. Let’s talk about this amazing deal and how you can get it for your family, too.
What is the Pacific Science Center EBT Discount?
To get the Pacific Science Center EBT discount, you need to ask about their ACCESS Membership program. This is a discounted family membership for people who receive any form of public or government assistance. That means this is more than just an EBT discount, because it can also help you if you receive Medicaid, WIC, TANF, WIC, SSI and other assistance programs.
The membership includes unlimited free admission to the permanent exhibits for up to 8 members of your household, as well as two named caregivers. You can add up to two adults and six children (ages 3-17) who live in the same household. You can also add two named caregivers, such a grandparents, older children or nannies, who can bring the children to the museum without you. The named caregivers do not have to live with you.
The ACCESS Membership benefits also include:
- 50% discount on general admission for additional guests
- 20% discount on IMAX tickets, laser shows, and theater concessions
- $15 discount on summer camps, plus early registration access
- Reciprocal admission to 350+ science centers
The entire ACCESS Membership is just $19. That’s cheaper than one adult admission to the Pacific Science Center and it covers your family for an entire year! It’s amazing.
Who is eligible for the ACCESS discount?
The Pacific Science Center says that ANYONE who receives ANY form of public or government assistance can receive this discount. That means it’s not limited to EBT users the way that our regular EBT discounts are.
You may be eligible for this discounted membership if you receive:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, EBT, Food Stamps)
- SSI
- TANF
- Medicaid
- LIHEAP
- Discounted school meals
- WIC
- and more!
Of course, if you receive assistance from these programs, you may also qualify for 50% off Amazon Prime as well!
How do you get it?
So, I’m sure you’re wondering… how do you get this amazing deal? It’s easy! You can sign up on-site in the membership office or by calling (206) 443-2924.
It’s actually very easy to sign up when you visit the museum. You just let them know you want the ACCESS Membership. You’ll need to present photo IDs and your household information.
Other Pacific Science Center Discounts
There is a FREE Youth Access Membership available for eligible youth. This program is exclusively for young people under age 14 who are in foster care, kinship care, or who are experiencing homelessness.
In order to be eligible for this program, the youth must meet ONE of the following requirements:
- The youth must be under age 14 and being raised by a relative who is not a biological parent.
- The youth must be under age 14 and being raised by a kinship caregiver.
- The youth must be under age 21 and experiencing homelessness.
- The youth must be under age 21 and living in foster care.
In all cases, the youth must be living in Washington State in order to qualify.
The membership will provide free general admission for the youth. The youth’s caregiver will also be covered if they are experiencing homelessness.
In addition to free general admission, the Youth ACCESS Membership also includes:
- 50% discount on general admission for guests
- 20% discount on IMAX, evening laser shows, or theater concessions
- $15 discount on summer camps, plus early registration access
- Reciprocal admission to more than 350 science centers
Our Experience
I can verify that this membership is legit. Not only can you find it listed on the PacSci website, but I have personal experience with it, too. A number of years ago, my family received a PacSci Access Membership so that we could visit the museum.
My kiddos have basically grown up at this place. It’s a family favorite, for sure. We love everything, from the tropical butterfly house to the outdoor water features to the dinosaur exhibits to the planetarium shows!
A lot of museums provide limited benefits to their access memberships. However, these discounted Pacific Science Center memberships are the real deal! You get the same benefits and perks that you would get with the standard $100+ membership!
