At Low Income Relief, your trust means everything to us. That’s why we want to make sure you know exactly how to tell when you’re interacting with the real Low Income Relief—and how to stay safe from copycat accounts that may try to trick or confuse you.
We were recently alerted by some long-time subscribers that there are scammers on YouTube who are pretending to be us. They’ve stolen our logo, copied our name, and even re-used some of our community posts. They’re out there tagging people, sharing fake posts, and trying to trick people into thinking they’re part of the real Low Income Relief team.
So let’s walk through how to spot the fakes and protect yourself.
We are the REAL Low Income Relief
Low Income Relief is an independent, reader-supported organization that has been publishing reliable information for low income households since 2013. We are deeply committed to transparency, accuracy, and helping our community. Our content is shared across multiple official platforms, including:
- Website: LowIncomeRelief.com – This is our central hub with thousands of helpful articles.
- YouTube (Main Channel): Low Income Relief has over 200,000 subscribers, launched June 11, 2017.
- YouTube (Secondary Channel): Fast Facts by Low Income Relief is our secondary channel with more local news, FAQs and other content.
- Facebook Community: We have one active and moderated Facebook group for sharing updates and support.
- Email: We only send emails from @lowincomerelief.com. If you receive a message from any other domain (including Gmail or misspellings), it’s not us.
- Social Media: We have an Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc. The username is always @lowincomerelief.
These are the only official accounts we use for low income assistance content. If you’re ever in doubt, check our website or reach out to us directly.
How to Spot FAKE Accounts
Unfortunately, scammers often target communities like ours. They try to impersonate trusted sources to deceive people into giving up personal info, clicking malicious links, or falling for scams.
Here’s how you can protect yourself:
- Check the name carefully. Our name is Low Income Relief—no extra letters, no hyphens or symbols, no “s” at the end.
- Look at the subscriber count. Our YouTube channel has over 200,000 subscribers. Fake channels often have very few.
- Check the URL. The real channel is youtube.com/c/lowincomerelief. Anything different could be a fake.
- We don’t tag people by name. If you’re getting personal tags or DMs from an account claiming to be us—especially outside of our Facebook group—it’s not from our team.
- Look for video history and structure. Our channel includes hundreds of videos, organized playlists, and featured sections. Copycat pages often look empty or unorganized.
- Confirm the email domain. We only email from addresses ending in
@lowincomerelief.com. - Check the start date. Our YouTube channel began on June 11, 2017. The current channels that are pretending to be us started in 2020 or later.

What to Do if You’re Unsure
If something feels off, trust your instincts.
- Don’t click suspicious links.
- Don’t provide personal information. Remember, the REAL Low Income Relief never asks for anything but your email address.
- Report impersonator accounts. Most platforms allow you to report scams or fakes.
- Reach out to us at team@lowincomerelief.com if you’re unsure.
Your safety is our top priority, and we’d rather you double-check than fall into a scammer’s trap.
