The DC Department of Community Development might be able to help if you’re a DC first time home buyer. The program offers CBOs that might make it easier for you to purchase a home. You could use the assistance through the program to help you pay for your down payment. It could help to help make it easier to pay for closing costs. Since the program is one that provides help, you can use this assistance with most loans (both traditional and non-traditional). Lenders might have certain requirements to use these assistance options so make sure you always check with your lender!

There are other requirements you’ll have to meet if your employer has them in place.

The HPAP could help if you’re in need of assistance for closing costs on your home.
