You will need to meet income requirements to get the CDBG through Kent County.

New Castle County

If you’re in Wilmington and you need Delaware home repair assistance, you might be able to get it through the department of real estate and housing. This department offers the CDBG which you could use to make home updates. You will need to meet income and other requirements to qualify for help through the program.

The community development division of New Castle County might be able to provide some assistance to low-income and moderate-income homeowners in the city. If you meet their requirements and you need help with home repairs, you could get a HOME partnership loan. You might also be able to get CDBG that might make it easier for you to make repairs to your home. In addition to home repair help, New Castle might be able to help you with your property taxes. They have property tax relief available for seniors, people who are disabled and veterans as long as you meet their other requirements.

Sussex County

Sussex County’s community development could provide some Delaware home repair assistance. If you want help with your home repairs or you’re in need of assistance to make your home a safer place to live, you could get help through the CDBG. Sussex County might also other programs that could help you as a low-income homeowner.
