You could get help with your down payment through a USDA loan. If you’re a first time home buyer in NC and you live in a rural area, you might qualify for the rural housing loan from the USDA. The Center for Homeownership has grants they provide to help you pay for your down payment. These can be used in combination with FHA, alternative mortgages and traditional mortgages. You’ll need to meet certain income requirements to get help through the Center for Homeownership.

That means that while professionals will build the house, you will be required to put some “equity” into it by helping build it.

I received my first Section 8 voucher Oct 1 2020. I have trying to contact Twin Rivers Opportunity in New Bern NC since for help. No one has returned ANY of my calls. I am learning all about these resources online that could be available to me but no one will help. I feel stuck and I would like to know where I should do next. If you have any information that could steer me in the right direction. Thank you and God bless. Lisa Stephenson Wright [email protected]
