Programs that Offer Free Dental Implants
Missing teeth can make it hard to eat the foods you love, smile confidently, or even speak clearly. But the high cost of dental implants can seem out of reach. Don’t lose hope! These programs may be able to help you.
Smiles for Everyone Foundation
The Smiles for Everyone Foundation estimates that around 69% of American adults have lost at least one tooth and need a dental implant. However, they know that not everyone can afford one. That’s why they launched a new initiative called Implanting Inspiration that can help offset the cost!
In order to benefit from this program, you will need to work with one of their partner organizations to get your implant. Their partner organizations include Smile Brands, Impact Direct and DDS Lab. There are more than 400 brands that can work with this organization, including well-known brands like Bright Now Dental, Monarch Dental, OneSmile Dental and more. They have a presence in 16 states!
In order to qualify for free dental implants from Implanting Inspiration, you must be a low income, underinsured American who needs a dental implant.
This organization only accepts applications during certain times of the year. You will need to check their application page to see if they are currently accepting applications. If they are not, you will need to follow their organization for updates or check back periodically to see if the applications have reopened.
Donated Dental Services
Many dentists offer free dental services to low income patients. They may do this through clinics, events, or just donated hours.
In some rare cases, you may be able to get free dental implants through Donated Dental Services providers. However, this is rare because these providers typically focus on pain relief and other basic procedures.
Department of Veterans Affairs
If you are an eligible veteran who qualifies for VA dental care, you may be able to receive free dental implants if a provider deems them medically necessary. Dental implants are usually only considered in cases where other options are not viable or when the functional benefits of implants significantly outweigh the benefits of more traditional treatments.
This is primarily because the VA often opts for more cost-effective treatments such as dentures or partials, which are generally less expensive than implants.
Medicaid
Medicaid provides dental coverage for children in all states. Some states have also expanded Medicaid to provide dental coverage for adults. However, this program typically has strict limits and it usually will not provide dental implants unless they are deemed medically necessary.
There are only a few situations in which dental implants may be considered medically necessary. This includes if they are needed to preserve jawbone integrity, support your facial support, or protect your ability to speak properly. If your implants are medically necessary, you may need to appeal and fight for your ability to get them covered.
In order to find out if your Medicaid plan covers free dental implants for low income patients, you will need to call the number on the back of your card and ask a patient care advocate for details.
Clinical Trials

These studies also may show which medical approaches work best for certain illnesses or groups of people. Each study aims to answer scientific questions and to find better ways to prevent, screen for, diagnose, or treat a disease.
You can find upcoming clinical trials by searching ClinicalTrials.gov, or by visiting the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) or checking with your local university hospital or dental school.

Dental Schools
If you’re considering dental implants but are concerned about the high costs, dental schools can be an excellent resource for affordable care. Many dental schools across the country offer dental services performed by dental students and residents, supervised by experienced licensed dentists and specialists. These services typically come at a significantly reduced cost, making them a viable option for those seeking budget-friendly solutions.
Dental students can offer all sorts of discounted services, from preventative care to more complex procedures like implants. If you’re interested in getting an affordable dental implant from your local dental school, you’ll need to reach out to the one nearest you and see if it’s a service they offer.
Groupon
Groupon, a popular online marketplace, can be an excellent resource for finding discounted services, including dental procedures like implants. By offering limited-time deals at significantly reduced prices, Groupon helps you access dental treatments at a fraction of the usual cost.
Some dentists may list dental implant deals that aren’t actually that great for savings. In order to identify if the Groupon offers in your area are actually a good deal, you need to know what dental implants cost in your area so that you can compare effectively.
Other Options
The reason it’s so hard to find free dental implants for low income people is because implants are usually considered a cosmetic or unnecessary procedure. Most low income assistance programs focus only on procedures that are medically necessary or urgently needed to relieve pain.
As a result, I strongly recommend that you consider free dentures or free partials instead of free dental implants. It’s easier to find help with those costs, since programs like Medicaid and even free dental clinics are more likely to cover them. It’s also easier to get help with them from programs like Dental Lifeline Network as well.
On that note, there is a lot of misleading information out there about free dental implants. Many other sources claim that organizations like Dental Lifeline Network can assist with dental implants but that’s not true. In fact, DLN is very clear that dental implants and other cosmetic dental procedures are outside the scope of what their organization is designed to provide. Similarly, PACE plans cover dentures but do not generally provide free dental implants.

I need bottom denture snap ins or a bottom denture implant to get my immune gut diseases under control! I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 1999, by the time I was finally diagnosed I was finally able to breathe! Beings I had went down all the way to 90 lbs and had a really low blood level! I almost died when they were going to send me home undiagnosed because they couldn’t find anything that I would have died they had my family members and they told dr if she comes home she will die! Mind you I had diarrhea so bad anything I ate or drank went right out! I went 17 times just in middle of night! Throwing everything that I ate or drank up! Well I had to be put on a strict gluten free diet! But as I tried my gut was still not healing! In fact I then got diagnosed with diroticulosis! I couldn’t eat gluten wheat rye barley or now seeds skins nuts! So years going by I’m constantly needing blood transfusion and iron infusion! My gut still not healing! I was then no longer able to consume milk dairy sugar white rice or corn which goes like this usually anything gluten free was made from rice or core or bean I’ve been hospitalized so much for this I can get dr written note because from throwing up so much and not getting proper nutrition my teeth rotted had to all be pulled! I was good I had been able to keep 2 bottom teeth that the bottom denture would clip into! Well it they rotted! The dentist who pulled my teeth told me if I choose metal and needed the 2 pulled that implants would be covered then if I got the acrylic! Well I went back to see her she moved out of country! I had double roots on every tooth and hooked had they knew this I would’ve got put to sleep! Well my dentures came back but I had to wait an extra 3-4 months because I had bones coming out of top of palette out of my gums in front back so I was sent for 5 surgeries to have my gums cut and bones taken out so each time I had a surgical procedure done I had to heal before next!
Well then I had all pulled! I couldn’t wear bottom denture it kept falling out when I tried to eat! And gluten free usually everything thing is harder to chew! Well with just my top denture I can’t even chew without cutting my bottom gums up so I always have sores and thrush and abscesses! So I’ve been so under nourished I had gallbladder issues gallstones out then when they took my gallbladder they hit my liver and it bled out I went ke up in icu from a coma I had my family all around with priest blessing me! I had only 2 pints of blood in my body I was jaundice and running a high fever they had fluids running in me like a hose no drip!
The same summer I had got a fatty liver and I also have hep b and c ! Then I was rushed to hospital that s time I had big apple like hard balls on hand and leg they also determined I had blood pockets in my stomach and blood clots in my legs! I was also diagnosed with rabdomyalisis!
So I’m still not able to eat anything that’s not soft! Which I had colonoscopy 3 years ago my then GI dr told me my intestines are strangling! Never said anything else! Well you can imagine I went through menopause early well I had not had a period in over 2 years well in Dec 25 I had been bleeding so bad and feeling r over a million nth that I couldn’t even have a place that I couldn’t go I would bleed through everything I was cleaning and was lightheaded had to lye down I passed I out! I went to hospital and I had ultrasound done and not only were the Gyn team in to see me I had fibroid tumors that were bleeding and endometriosis again! I had emergency colonoscopy because they also found my intestines to be so tangled and my body being poisoned with a blockage that the year prior I had been prepped for emergency surgery but they never did it just sent me home and now I’m diagnosed with very low blood pressure! So after the emergency colonoscopy and in icu they had a tube down my nose sucking all the feces out of my stomach! I didn’t understand why this all was happening so then I had to have another emergency surgery to remove part of my large intestine as it was rotten flesh and feces in my intestines! In icu again! So finally I got discharged after never even eating a meal except liquids and measured for a stoma! I was scared! By the grace of god she was able to save me from getting a stoma! But now I’m in so much pain! I got discharged and thought everything was good then my incision got infected and was bleeding and just leaking puss! Back in again! I had wound care they were using something for the hole they packed with protien gauze and something to eat the infection from inside out I now have the constipation back and feels like another blockage I can’t eat anything I burp gases that smell and taste like rotten eggs!
So here’s another issue everytime my blood levels go down I need to get several bags of blood then my hair falls out! So I can’t go to bathroom because I I can’t eat food I need to thrive because I can’t chew! I’m always having to get niastatin or ulcer medication for my bottom gums!
So please helps me! I can get documentation from all my dr for the implants! It’s just now Aetna won’t cover them this year! Even if I go to a school that gives me a sliding scale and I try to get donations from charity and maybe a dental grant I will make monthly payments as well I’m not asking for top please just bottoms! And also now I hardly have hair again! I can’t get a wig in any wig store because I’m so thin my head is small so I need a small wig and I need helping with that! I’ve checked online most people who qualify have to have cancer except a few! My dr wrote me a script for human hair wig prosthesis! I’m always watching your YouTube channel in fact I even pay for it! I’ve many times used your services for help!!
