What is Infinite Strength?
Infinite Strength is a nonprofit organization that focuses on single mothers who have been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.
This organization as founded by Roberta Lombardi, who was diagnosed in early September 2016. Although Roberta was married and financially stable, she frequently heard less fortunate women talking to their providers through the thin drapes that separate patients in the treatment center. Some of these women were hesitant to continue their treatments – even the ones that prolonged their lives – because they couldn’t afford it and they were afraid it was negatively affecting their families.
When Roberta recovered, she established Infinite Strength to help. This organization focuses solely on serving underinsured or underserved single mothers who have been diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. They offer financial and emotional assistance to help eligible families.
Who Qualifies for Infinite Strength’s Grants?
Infinite Strength’s financial assistance program is specifically reserved for low‑income single mothers living with metastatic breast cancer. Other educational resources and advocacy work may reach a wider audience, but the Basic Human Needs grants are tightly focused.
You may qualify if all of the following are true:
- You are a single mother. You are parenting on your own and responsible for your household.
- You have at least one child under 18 who lives with you and is financially dependent on you.
- You have a metastatic (Stage IV) breast cancer diagnosis.
- Your household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
- You can provide the required documentation, including proof of income, housing costs, and medical status.
Because the Federal Poverty Guidelines change every year, it’s a good idea to check the latest numbers before you apply.
