Visit the bar association to possibly find legal aid of NC.

Even if you’re unable to find help through legal aid of NC, you might be able to get help through the bar association. While the bar doesn’t offer help directly, they do have a list of attorneys who help pro bono. This means you could get free legal representation. The bar association may also have a list of attorneys who are willing to do work with payment plans.

You could find help from the ACLU.
