Equalize your monthly electric charges with the BudgetPlan. The BudgetPlan averages your annual usage. Every May, you’ll receive a settlement bill for the difference between your actual usage and the amount you paid.

Pay the same amount for gas every month with the DependaBill program. This program averages your usage into equal monthly payments. There’s no settlement month. You can also lock-in your natural gas supply price with Price Protection Service, which prevents your per therm price from fluctuating with the market rates.

You may be paying additional fees if you pay over the phone! Save the convenience fee by paying through the mail or online via NIPSCO.com, CheckFree or ZapCheck. Paying over the phone or online via BillMatrix will result in a convenience fee.

Low income customers can receive a FREE weatherization service! You’ll get free home energy upgrades and have them installed by an industry professional! You could receive LED bulbs, duct sealing, programmable thermostats, energy efficient sink aerators and showerheads, water heater pipe insulation, furnace filter whistles and more. You automatically qualify if you receive LIHEAP, EAP< TANF or SSI! For income guidelines and more, click here!

Need help paying your NIPSCO bill?

If you’re unable to pay your NIPSCO bill, don’t panic! We’ve found lots of help in your area.

Of course, the first step is to make payment arrangements with NIPSCO. They’ll let you make an initial payment within four days of the agreement and then divide the remaining balance over three months. You’ll have to keep up on your regular bills in addition to the past-due balance.

You may be able to receive help from the NIPSCO Hardship Program. This program provides up to $400 to natural gas customers who fall between 151 and 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. These funds are distributed by Community Action Agencies and are awarded between December 1 and May 31 annually.

Indiana also offers an Energy Assistance Program (EAP) for customers with incomes equal to or less than 150 percent of the FPL. This program provides funding during the summer and winter months. It also provides Moratorium Protection between December 1 and March 15 so that your power cannot be disconnected during the coldest months of the year. This program is administered by local Community Action agencies.

Homeowners who qualify for LIHEAP may also qualify for State EAP, which provides $60 toward the cost of their primary heating as well as assistance with deposits, re-connection fees and other costs not covered by the federal program. This program is administered by local Community Action agencies.

Get assistance from your Township TrusteeTrustees may be able to provide additional bill assistance from annual tax revenues.
