If you’ve got an ABBE library card, you can do so much more than check out books! Your card can unlock exclusive digital services and so much more. Let’s talk about all the things your ABBE card can do.

Aiken-Bamberg-Barnwell-Edgefield Regional Library System (ABBE) serves a four-county area. In addition to essential library services like materials checkout and computer access, ABBE also offers downloadable materials and other perks!

Free Online Services from ABBE Library

Your ABBE library card can unlock some digital services. These services can help you access books, audiobooks and even movie streaming from the comfort of your home!


CloudLibrary by Bibliotheca is a versatile digital platform that offers a wide range of audiobooks and eBooks for readers to enjoy. Users can access a diverse collection of digital titles, making it a convenient resource for book enthusiasts.

With CloudLibrary, individuals can have up to five items simultaneously checked out, providing the flexibility to explore multiple titles at their own pace. Unlike some digital libraries, there is no monthly maximum, allowing users to indulge in their reading habits without constraints.

One of the notable features of CloudLibrary is its lending period, which allows eBooks and audiobooks to be borrowed for up to 14 days. This ample time frame gives readers the opportunity to savor their chosen titles without feeling rushed.

Additionally, CloudLibrary supports holds on up to three titles, enabling users to reserve popular or high-demand items. However, it’s essential to note that holds will be canceled if not checked out within three days of receiving an email notification, encouraging efficient and fair access to sought-after content.


Hoopla is a fantastic digital platform that offers a treasure trove of entertainment options, including eBooks, audiobooks, comics, music, movies, and TV shows. With Hoopla, users can dive into a diverse array of media, making it a one-stop destination for all their entertainment needs.

One of the appealing features of Hoopla is its generous monthly allowance, allowing users to check out up to six items each month. This flexibility enables individuals to explore a variety of content without limitations.

When it comes to borrowing periods, Hoopla caters to different types of media:

  • Movies and television shows can be checked out for a short but exciting period of three days, providing a brief cinematic experience.
  • Music lovers can enjoy their favorite tunes for a week, as music checkouts are valid for seven days.
  • For eBooks, audiobooks, comics, and other items, the borrowing period extends to a more leisurely 21 days, allowing readers to savor their chosen titles at their own pace.

Overall, Hoopla’s user-friendly interface and diverse content make it a go-to platform for digital entertainment enthusiasts.

Teen BookCloud is a dynamic digital library tailored specifically for teenagers and young adults. It offers an extensive selection of eBooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, videos and more that cater to the unique interests and reading preferences of teens.

Whether it’s contemporary fiction, fantasy, or non-fiction, Teen BookCloud provides an exciting reading experience that connects with the diverse tastes of today’s young readers, making it an excellent resource for both leisure reading and educational purposes.

Library of Things

It appears that some ABBE Library locations operate a Library of Things. This is is a modern and innovative concept that extends the traditional library model beyond books and digital media to include a wide variety of physical items that people can borrow.

It appears that the New Ellenton Branch Library offers sporting equipment for checkout. According to an announcement on their website, you can check out pickleball sets, frisbees, soccer ball, basketball and even bowling sets from the local branch.

It is not clear if this is available at other branches of the ABBE Library System.
