Which state has the most EBT users?! One of the most surprising things we’ve discovered during our research on EBT Statistics for 2022 was which states have the most food stamps users! If you’ve ever wondered how many people are getting EBT in your area, or which states are most reliant on these benefits, we’ve got the answers you’re looking for!
What is EBT?
EBT stands for Electronic Benefits Transfer. It’s the electronic system that is used to deliver funds for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (cash benefits) programs.
People who are eligible and apply for these programs receive an EBT card, which is automatically loaded with the funds every month. As a result, these benefits are often called EBT benefits.
