Cops For Kids in Albuquerque helps bring holiday cheer to 100 children across Sandoval County. Created by community Crimestoppers and the Albuquerque Police Department, they dedicate one day to underprivileged children. On this one day event, selected children enjoy breakfast with Mr. And Mrs. Claus and then head to Wal-Mart where they get to spend $100 on clothing and toys. Afterward, these children get to enjoy lunch, bowling, and festive entertainment. Lastly, children receive a turkey and all the fixings to take home for a holiday meal and a free backpack for school filled with special goodies and basic necessities.

Joy Junction in Albuquerque encourages low-income families who struggle during the holidays to apply for their Christmas wish list program. Registered families receive several toys, books, and games for their children, food for a holiday dinner, clothing, and other small gifts that get delivered just before Christmas morning.

My name is Terry Vaughn. I'm 67 yrs. old, I have COPD on oxygen, and have bad arthritis. I'm homebound and don't have anyone to go get anything for me like food boxes, or clothes. I'm low income.
