Free Toys and Gifts in Orange County, CA

Anaheim Indoor Marketplace gives away free toys each year while supplies last. Days and hours vary, and guests must have coupons to receive gifts. Get details about special events or call (714) 999-0888.

Assistance League Christmas Is for Sharing has locations in cities throughout Orange County. In addition to thrift shops and ongoing programs, they provide age-appropriate gifts for all members of needy families during the holidays. Sign up for sales, promotions, and special events. Boys and Girls Club’s Family and Outreach Program in Garden Grove wants disadvantaged children to be successful in school and life. In addition to ongoing counseling and community programs, they may also provide holiday help to local youth up to the age of 18.

Friendly Center, Inc. in Orange gives gifts and food baskets to unaccompanied adults, senior citizens, and parents with young children. Garden Grove 7th Day Adventist sponsors an adopt-a-family program for children up to 13 years in Garden Grove and surrounding areas. Parents, including single moms, may receive food and Christmas trees while kids get gifts that range from free toys and clothing to games and electronics.  The church also offers food, clothing, and personal hygiene items at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mariners Church in Irvine serves a hot Thanksgiving meal and gives small toys or articles of clothing to children at Christmas. The church focuses on families who are low-income, homeless, or poor. Saint Joachim Catholic Church in Costa Mesa and its partners serve Thanksgiving meals to the needy. They may also make referrals or provide information about other holiday or Christmas events in Orange County as well offer services through their St Vincent de Paul and outreach programs. Saint Vincent de Paul and Catholic charities partner with nonprofits like Toys for Tots to provide donated gifts to needy children in Orange County. Find a participating parish in your neighborhood.

Share Our Selves (SOS) is a nonprofit that accepts referrals from Costa Mesa and Santa Ana schools and organizations. South County Outreach Adopt-a-Family has helped families through the holidays since 1997 by offering free toys and food as well as clothing to brighten their Christmas. United States Postal Service and Operation Santa depend on volunteers to meet the special needs of children who write to Santa through local post offices. Any child, family member, or interested party can write a letter on behalf of a child. While there are no guarantees, volunteers try to spot and respond to requests of those in need.

Yorba Linda Coast to Coast Foundation offers SACK lunches to hungry students every month in addition to serving the homeless twice a month. Free Toys and Food for Special Groups

Crime Survivors, Inc. of Irvine sponsors an event known as Gift Baskets and Holiday Party or Elf’s Holly Day. Aid is only for victims or survivors of crime and their families.

Make A Wish Orange County provides special requests for children who face life-threatening illnesses, but sick children may also request Christmas toys of gifts as a wish. Parents, legal guardians, family members, or medical professionals can recommend any child who has a critical illness and is at least two-and-a-half years old but not yet 18. Operation Santa Claus offers free toys and other gifts to Orange County children who have been neglected, abused, abandoned, or placed in foster care.  They also give holiday gifts to children of needy families who receive services from the county. American Family Housing in Westminster offers a free community dinner every Thanksgiving. They also run an ongoing program for the homeless. Call (714) 897-3221.
