Free or Low Cost Vet Clinics in Arkansas

Pet care expenses add up quickly. If you need help with the cost of pet care, you are not alone! We have researched for you and found many Arkansas free and low cost vet clinics that offer emergency services, spay and neuter services and more. We’ve even found free pet food banks!

Emergency Vet Services

An unexpected pet illness or injury can be a huge financial burden. Many clinics have payment plans and some have financial assistance programs. In particular, there are two low cost vet clinics in Arkansas that offer grants for pet emergencies.

The Humane Society of the Ozarks (Fayetteville)

The Humane Society of the Ozarks offers very limited emergency vouchers for restricted income pet owners who have a sick or injured pet. Proof of income is required. Participants who receive a voucher can receive services from vet clinics located in Bella Vista, Fayetteville, Huntsville, Lincoln, Rogers, and Springdale. You can apply for an emergency voucher online.

Cabot Animal Support Services (Cabot)

Cabot Animal Support Services Hope Fund provides emergency funding for pets who are ill or injured and need life saving care. The Hope Fund is an emergency fund and will not be award for routine or preventive services. Applicants must live in Cabot City limits. You can apply for Hope Fund online.

Spay & Neuter Services

Spaying and neutering is an important part of pet and community health. There are multiple free and low cost vet clinics and organizations that offer low cost spay and neuter services. Some are available to all pet owners regardless of income or residency. The location of each agency is listed so that you can find the one nearest to you.

Arkansas Animal Rescue Fund

Arkansas Animal Rescue Fund (AARF) partners with non-profit clinics in 64 of Arkansas’s 75 counties. AARF awards grants to non-profit clinics who then provide vouchers for spay/neuter services. Each clinic operates differently, but often funding is limited and applications are required. The vouchers typically reduce the cost of spay/neuter operations by $25 for cats and $50 for female dogs. Please note, the actual voucher amounts may vary. To apply, you must contact the partner clinic directly. All partner clinics can be found on their website.

Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals (Little Rock)

This agency provides a limited number of spay/neuter vouchers per month. The vouchers can cover up to $50 of the procedure and a list of low cost clinics can be found on their website. Please note, some vouchers may cover less than $50 and each clinic charges a different fee for the procedure. It is important to call and verify the cost of the procedure and amount of the voucher. The application re-opens during the first week of each month and vouchers run out fast. Visit their website for details and to apply for a voucher.

Companions Spay & Neuter (Greenbrier)

Companions Spay & Neuter is a clinic open to the public regardless of location or income. They are a partner for AARF (mentioned above) and also offer a few other financial assistance programs. You can apply to AARF or the programs listed below on their website.

Faulkner County Spay/Neuter Incentive Program (FC-SNIP)

Faulkner County residents can receive low cost services through the FC-SNIP program If you participate in eligible programs such as EBT, SSI, SSD, WIC or Medicaid. Discounts range from $40-$50 off the cost of spay/neuter for dogs and $25 off for cats.

Companions Community Cat Fund

Companions Community Cat Fund (CCCF) is only for feral or friendly community cats. CCCF offers vaccination, spay/neuter, and ear tipping for only $25. This fund is for community cats and ear tipping is not optional. They also offer humane live cat traps if needed.

Feline Rescue & Rehome (Little Rock)

Feline Rescue and Rehome (FuRR) operates a low cost clinic every second Saturday of the month. All cats must be at least 12 weeks old and must weigh at least two pounds. Priority is given to feral, stray, and pregnant cats. Cost for spay/neuter is typically $35. Appointments are required and can be made by emailing the address provided on their website.

Spay Arkansas (Springdale)

Spay Arkansas operates a low cost clinic for residents of Northwest Arkansas. You must meet income guidelines in order to participate in their low cost spay and neuter clinic. The clinic is currently held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week. All services are done by appointment. Find pricing and contact information on the Spay Arkansas website.

Arkansans for Animals, Inc. (Little Rock)

Arkansans for Animals, Inc. is a nonprofit that operates a full-time low cost clinic. Spay and neuter services range from $35 for cats to $65 for dogs. They also have special pricing for feral cats. Appointments can be made on their Facebook.

Kitties and Kanines (Fort Smith)

Kitties and Kanines is a non-profit located in Fort Smith Arkansas. They offer low cost spay and neuter services and also accept AARF vouchers (mentioned above). Spay/neuter services range from $65-$95 for dogs and $50 for cats. AARF Vouchers reduce the cost by $60 for dogs and $30 for cats at Kitties and Kanines. The Humane Society of the Ozark’s (Fayetteville)

The Humane Society of the Ozark’s offers low cost spay/neuter services and vouchers. This program is open to everyone regardless of income and location, but primarily serves pet owners in Northwest Arkansas. Please visit the Humane Society of the Ozark’s website for more information and to request a voucher.

The Humane Society of Saline County

The Humane Society of Saline County offers low cost spay/neuter clinics and also may provide an AARF voucher. Spay/neuter clinics are limited and can be booked online. Animals must weigh between 2-80 pounds and they only accept cash.

Washington County Arkansas Animal Shelter

Washington County Animal Shelter offers $25 spay/neuter services to residents of Washington County with restricted incomes. This program is only available to residents who do not live in an incorporated city with a population over 10,000. To apply, this application must be printed and mailed in. Proof of income must be provided and income eligibility is provided on the application.

City of Fayetteville Animal Services

City of Fayetteville Animal Services offers $25 spay/neuter services to eligible residents of Fayetteville. Participants must prove residency of Fayetteville and meet HUD federal income guidelines. To apply, please complete this online application.

Good Shepherd Humane Society (Eureka Springs)

Good Shepherd Humane Society offers a low cost clinic to eligible pet owners. Spay/Neuter services range from $35 for cats to $50-$100 for dogs. Income restrictions are listed on their website. Appointments are necessary and can be booked online.

Vaccines & Testing

There is much more to pet care than spaying and neutering. Below is a list of Arkansas free and lost cost vet clinics that offer various services. Similar to the list above, we have listed locations but some of these clinics do not have residency restrictions.

Companions Spay & Neuter (Greenbrier)

Companions offers a low cost clinic to pet owners regardless of income or residency. No appointments are necessary and the clinic is open from 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday. The clinic offers low cost vaccinations, tests, microchipping, worming, and medications. They charge $10 for each visit and the full range of services and prices can be found on Companion’s website.

Spay Arkansas (Springdale)

Spay Arkansas offers a low cost clinic for preventive vaccines one Saturday a month. All dogs/cats must be spayed/neutered to receive services. A full list of vaccines and prices are listed on their website. Appointments are required and are open to book 10 days prior to clinic date. Arkansan for Animals, Inc. (Little Rock)

Arkansan for Animals, Inc. is a nonprofit that operates a full-time low cost clinic. Besides spay/neuter services they also offer low cost tests and vaccines. They are open Tuesday-Thursday and appointments can be scheduled online. Please visit Arkansan for Animal’s Facebook for more information.

Kitties and Kanines (Fort Smith)

Kitties and Kanines operates a low cost wellness clinic Monday-Thursday from 10am-2pm. The wellness clinic is walk-ins only. A full list of services and prices are available on their website.

Best Friends Animal Society (Bentonville)

Best Friends Animal Society is a multi-state organization with a location in Bentonville Arkansas. They offer free clinics every Wednesday from 9am-12:30pm. They offer Distemper/DHHP, HCP, rabies vaccines and microchips for free. Appointments are recommended by not required. You can register for an appointment on their bookings page.

The Humane Society of Saline County

The Humane Society of Saline County host low cost test and vaccination drive-thru clinics once a month. The clinic date for the month is posted on the 1st of each month. The limit is two animals per visit. Prices and clinic dates are listed on their website All services are cash only.

Good Shepherd Humane Society (Eureka Springs)

Good Shepherd Humane Society offers low cost vaccines, tests, and some operations for eligible pet owners. Family income maximums are listed online. Appointments are required and can be booked on Good Shepherd Humane Society’s website.

Free Pet Food

Pet food is often a necessary but burdensome expense. Arkansas has a few pet food pantries that could help reduce the cost of feeding your pet.

Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals (Little Rock)

Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals (CARE) offers a pet food pantry for pet owners in the community. Pet owners are eligible for assistance once a month on a first come first serve basis. The CARE pet food pantry is open Monday-Friday from 9:30am-5pm. It is suggested that you call ahead of visiting to confirm what they have in stock.

Ranger’s Pantry Pet Food Bank (Fayetteville)

Ranger’s Pantry Pet Food Bank is a service of Fayetteville’s Community Resources Department. To qualify households must met the HUD income guidelines and prove residency of Fayetteville. Rangers is open Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. To access the pet food bank, please email the Community Resources Department (found on website).

Best Friends Animal Society (Bentonville)

Best Friends Animal Society also operates a pet food bank. The pet food bank is open Monday-Friday from 10am-6pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm. Eligibility information is not available online. Please call or email them for more information.

Humane Society of Faulkner

The Humane Society of Faulkner provides pet food for residents of Faulkner county. The food pantry is only open the first Saturday of the month from 8am-9am (or until food runs out).

Cabot Animal Support Services (Cabot)

Cabot Animal Support Services offers food to pet owners in need. To receive assistance, please call the phone number found on Cabot’s Animal Support Services website.

Kitties and Kanines (Fort Smith)

In addition to the service listed above, Kitties and Kanines offers a pet food pantry. Pet supplies can be requested at the front desk during business hours (Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-2pm).

Animeals Animal Food Bank (Jonesboro)

Animeals offer short term food assistance to pet owners facing hard economic times. You can apply by picking up an application at the Animal Services building Saturdays before noon.

The affection and devotion of pets add so much to our lives, but pet care can be expensive. Luckily, there are many resources to help keep pets healthy and in their families. Throughout Arkansas there are non-profits and government programs that offer free or low cost spay/neuter, vaccines, testing, and medication services. MY LIL CAT NEED HELP ASAP PLEASE! I do not have money , my momma died, my daddy, a Vietnam vet, shot himself a year after momma died, than someone took all his money which has left me in debt. My cat is gonna die. No one will help me!! He had like a bite abscess on his head, it popped in I cleaned it daily, 4 days later well past 2 he will not eat or drink, he won't get up, his pupils are dilated, his tounge is out his mouth, he is usually on the go non stop. He is a indoor out door cat. Idk what's wrong or what to do . Can someone please help me. He is about 8, he has been neutered and has had his shots. He needs help. Please and thank y'all

Please help my 3 year old female blue pit is almost all white , she just had 7 puppies 3 weeks ago , now she is not putting on weight and has lost all her fur she has bumps all over her body that will bleed and she stinks so bad , she is always scratching our chewing on her self , what can I do to help her
