    How to Get 10% Off at Fry’s Food Stores If You’re 55+

    If you live in Arizona and shop at Fry’s Food Stores, turning 55 could help you save a little extra on your grocery bill once a month.

    Fry’s offers shoppers age 55 and older an additional 10% off most eligible items on the first Wednesday of every month.

    The discount covers much more than groceries, but there are some important exclusions and a few details you’ll want to understand before you shop.

    Am I Eligible at 55?

    Yes.

    Fry’s sets the age for its Senior Discount at 55 or older, so you don’t have to wait until 60 or 65 to start saving.

    You can review the current offer on Fry’s official Senior Discount page.

    Fry’s Food Stores primarily serves shoppers in Arizona, so this isn’t a nationwide senior discount.

    How Much Do I Save, and When?

    Eligible shoppers can receive an additional 10% off most eligible items on the first Wednesday of every month.

    That means if you spent $150 entirely on eligible merchandise, a 10% discount would save you $15.

    The discount can’t be applied retroactively to purchases you made before Senior Discount Day, and Fry’s doesn’t offer rainchecks for the promotion.

    What’s Included?

    The discount applies to a surprisingly broad range of eligible merchandise.

    Fry’s lists categories including:

    • Groceries;
    • Health and beauty products;
    • Pet supplies;
    • Produce and floral;
    • Meat and seafood;
    • Bakery and deli items;
    • Cleaning supplies;
    • Paper products;
    • Apparel, shoes, and accessories;
    • Housewares;
    • Books and cards;
    • Toys;
    • Sporting goods;
    • Baby items and diapers; and
    • Most electronics.

    Not every product qualifies, though, so it’s important to check the exclusions.

    What’s Excluded?

    According to Fry’s current Senior Discount terms, the discount doesn’t apply to:

    • Prescriptions;
    • Alcohol;
    • Tobacco;
    • Event tickets;
    • Postage;
    • Lottery tickets;
    • Transit services;
    • Western Union services;
    • Money orders;
    • Fees;
    • Fuel; or
    • Gift cards.

    There are also exclusions for phone activation and gaming consoles from Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox.

    The discount isn’t valid on prior purchases, and rainchecks aren’t available.

    What About Pickup and Delivery?

    This is one area where Fry’s current terms aren’t completely clear.

    The main Senior Discount page advertises the offer for eligible online Pickup or Delivery orders on Senior Discount Day.

    However, the fine print on the same page also says the offer isn’t valid on “delivery or ship orders.”

    Because those statements conflict, we wouldn’t assume that every Delivery order will receive the discount.

    If you’re shopping online, Pickup may be the safer option. If you want to use Delivery, contact Fry’s before placing your order to confirm whether the Senior Discount will apply.

    Do I Need to Enroll?

    Fry’s says customers who are “currently enrolled in the Senior Discount” will see their savings on eligible orders.

    However, its current Senior Discount page doesn’t explain exactly how a new customer enrolls.

    If you’re 55 or older but aren’t already enrolled, contact your local Fry’s or ask customer service how to enroll before Senior Discount Day.

    That way, you can make sure you’re properly set up before filling your cart.

    How Do I Find a Fry’s Store?

    Fry’s Food Stores operates in Arizona.

    You can use the store locator on the Fry’s Food Stores website to find a location near you and check its current hours.

    If you have questions about enrollment or whether a particular purchase qualifies for the Senior Discount, contacting your local store before Senior Discount Day can help prevent surprises at checkout.

    Relief Recap

    If you’re 55 or older and shop at Fry’s Food Stores in Arizona, you could receive an additional 10% off most eligible merchandise on the first Wednesday of every month.

    The discount covers groceries and many everyday household purchases, but prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco, fuel, gift cards, and several other purchases are excluded.

    Fry’s current terms contain conflicting information about Delivery orders, so consider shopping in-store or using Pickup if you want to avoid uncertainty.

    And if you’ve never used the Senior Discount before, ask Fry’s how to enroll before Senior Discount Day.

    A 10% discount can add up. If you spent $150 entirely on eligible items, for example, you’d save $15.
