Humboldt Bay Firefighters holds a Share The Magic Of Christmas event to collect toys for children of low-income families in Humboldt County. Toys get delivered by the Humboldt Bay firefighters and the salvation army, just a few days before Christmas. To receive toys, applicants must register with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program.

Salvation Army invites all low-income families living in Humboldt County to sign up for their Angel Tree Program. This program provides free toys and gifts for low-income families, delivered a week before Christmas. Additionally, they offer holiday dinner boxes filled with turkey or ham and all the traditional holiday fixings and hot holiday meals at their soup kitchen on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Toys For Tots has annual toy drives every year to collect toys for children of low-income households in Humboldt County. Toys get donated by community members and organizations and then get delivered to families in need just before Christmas. Parents must register each child for the program using the request toys link on their website.
