We’ve found stores with grocery delivery that accepts EBT! If you need to order your groceries online for delivery, I highly recommend checking out these retailers.
There are 3 things you need to know before you order.
Even when you’ve found a place with grocery delivery that accepts EBT, there are three things that you need to know before you order.
First, your food stamps funds cannot be used to pay for the delivery fee, tip or other charges. It can only be used to pay for the eligible groceries themselves. You’ll need a secondary payment method to cover the delivery fee and tip.
Second, you’ll save money if you place one large order instead of several smaller ones. Because you have to pay a delivery fee and tip for each order, it’s best to plan ahead and make sure that you don’t miss anything. Grocery lists and meal plans can make a big difference!
Third, you may get better deals in the store. When you order online, you may miss out on great ways to save money (like discount bakery items, sale prices, loyalty card pricing and other offers that aren’t available online).
That being said, it’s overall a great thing that there are stores with grocery delivery that accepts EBT. Obviously, it’s a tremendous blessing for people who are homebound… but it’s also a great option when you are sick and don’t want to spread your germs.
Instacart accepts food stamps!
Instacart is the go-to service for easy and effective grocery delivery. I personally use it all the time. Last week, when my husband was sick, I ordered seven Instacart orders in seven days. It’s seriously a lifesaver.
A representative reached out to me last week to let me know that Instacart is now accepting food stamps for certain orders! If you’re looking for grocery delivery with EBT, you can order from over 4,000 stores in 38 states with Instacart. I highly recommend it.
And, for a limited time only, Instacart is offering free delivery and pickup for your first three orders!
On Instacart, you’ll find many places with grocery delivery that accepts EBT, including:
- Aldi
- Food Lion
- FoodMaxx
- Hannaford
- Piggly Wiggly
- Price Chopper
- Publix

Hi. Unfortunately, the option is not available in every state. We're hoping it will be eventually!

@Larissa, I don't know if you had to subscribe because of where you live, but both Walmart and Amazon have an option where you don't have to subscribe. Check it out.

I've been using Amazon and Walmart for groceries for a couple of years now. I stick to shelf stable goods, but it has been a godsend for me, because I don't drive and the closest supermarket is over a mile from me. It's also a bit cheaper for some items than the supermarket. If you are able to safely receive deliveries, you might want to check it out, especially if you like buying in bulk.
