How to Double Your Food Benefits in Idaho

How to Double Your Food Benefits in Idaho

Idaho has a robust Double Up Food Bucks program that can help you make the most of your food stamps benefits! If you live in this state, you need to know where to shop and how to access these services so that you can get even more food for your money.

What is Double Up Food Bucks?

Double Up Food Bucks is a nationwide movement that helps SNAP shoppers get more fresh fruit and vegetables with their food benefits. These benefits are currently available in more than half of all states – including Idaho!

However, this program is limited and only works at certain markets as listed below.

Who is eligible for DUFB?

Everyone who receives Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Benefits can double their benefits through this program. You must be shopping with your SNAP benefits in order to double the value of your purchase.

It appears that benefits from neighboring states, such as Washington, may also be able to be doubled through this system as long as the vendor is set up to process interstate EBT transactions.

How does it work?

When you want to double your benefits, you need to find a participating market. There’s a helpful list below.

Upon arrival, you will need to find the Information Desk or Market Manager. They will help you swipe your card and exchange your SNAP benefit dollars for tokens. This makes it easier for the farmers, who may not be set up to process EBT transactions. You’ll receive twice as many tokens as you paid for. Those tokens can be exchanged for healthy locally grown fruits and vegetables at the market.

Where can you double your food benefits in Idaho?

Of course, the most important thing you need to know is where to go to access this incredible program.
