If your application is accepted, your family’s story will be shared on the helpmebounce.com website along with Spare Key’s social media platforms for six months in order to gain donations for your family’s bills. If six months pass and you did not reach your goal or you still need financial aid, you can reapply to Spare Key.
In the list below are ways Spare Key says it is different from most other organizations like it.
- No income guidelines. You do not have to make a certain amount of money in order to qualify for the program.
- No distinction is made between types of illness or injury. The focus is on the length of the hospital stay, not what your family member is experiencing.

- Frequency of eligibility. Whether you need to pay your rent, mortgage, car payment, utilities, or other major financial obligation, Spare Key can help.
Do I qualify?
You must meet the following criteria in order to be able to apply for Spare Key’s assistance.
- The medical care of your family member must have resulted in a demonstrable, large increase in expenses
- The medical care of your family member must have resulted in an evidenced and significant loss of income
- Must have a medical professional or social worker certify that your family member is experiencing a serious injury or critical illness

How do I apply?
To apply for Spare Key’s assistance through their Help Me Bounce program, you will have to register for an account, complete an application, and sign a waiver. Please be sure to gather important documents before starting the application process so that you can complete it smoothly and efficiently.
