The USDA has a loan in addition to their grant program. You could get up to $20,000 toward your home repairs. While you do have to pay this loan back, it comes with a very low-interest rate and a long-term to pay the money back with.

If you’re entitled to VA benefits and you need Maryland home improvement, you might be able to get a loan that is backed by the VA. These loans work for people to help them save money and can make it easier for you to get approved. The loans also sometimes come with longer terms and a lower interest rate to pay it back with.

The Maryland Legal Assistance program might be able to provide you with even more help if you’re facing foreclosure. You could get a low-cost or free attorney to help you save your home. This could also help you understand the process of foreclosure and what you can do to prevent it from happening again once you get yourself out of it the first time!

You could also qualify for the deferred loan program that you will not have to pay off until you sell your home. Baltimore also has energy savings loans you could use to make your home more energy efficient. You can use these programs in addition to the Maryland Housing Rehabilitation program.

Residents of Baltimore County outside of the city might be able to get help through the rehabilitation program. You could get access to a community development block grant or even a deferred loan program. The grant could help you make necessary repairs to improve your home while the loan does not usually have to be paid off until you sell the house.

Frederick County

If you’re in Frederick, you might have options to make your home safer and more livable. You might be able to get access to the CDBG that could help you save money on your home repairs. This program includes funds from a grant that does not have to be paid back.

Harford County

The Harford county Home Rehabilitation Loan might be able to help you with Maryland home improvement. While the terms of the loan can vary from family to family, they are generally better than the terms of traditional loans. You could get a lower interest rate and more time to pay back the loan than you would with a traditional home repair loan. Harford County allows you to use the funds from the loan to rehabilitate your home by upgrading things like windows, doors, siding, electrical work, plumbing and more.

The Housing Rehabilitation Assistance program in Prince George’s County might make it easier for you to upgrade your home. You could get either a loan or a grant to help you make necessary upgrades. You don’t have to pay the grant back. While you do have to pay the loan back, it comes with terms that are often less expensive than loan terms from traditional banks.

Washington County

If you’re in Hagerstown and have Maryland home improvement projects, you might be able to get help with the CDBG program! The community development block grant might make it easier for you to upgrade your home to make it look nicer and help improve the community. It might also make it easier for you to make your home safer!
