Use a sound booth, green screen, 3D printer and more at the Melrose Center. 

The Melrose Center at the Orlando Public Library is a 26,000 sq ft technological paradise. With this new addition, the Orlando Public Library earned its distinction as an ALA-recognized “Library of the Future.”

In the Melrose Center, you’ll find the following:

A professional-grade audio studio where you can record podcasts and voice-overs in individual sound booths. You’ll also have access to editing workstations to perfect your pieces.

A video production studio that encompasses both a stage and control room. You’ll have access to a Canon XF 105 HD camera, a variety of microphones, boom poles, an enormous green screen and so much more!

A photography studio that features backdrops, lightboxes and photo editing software to help you perfect your shots.

The Fabrication Lab (Fab Lab) features exciting equipment, including 3D printers, electronics, basic engineering, computer programming, robotics and more. There are some amazing classes and workshops available in the Fab Lab!

The Simulation Lab features a flight simulator, driving simulator, forklift simulator and more.

Orange County Library cardholders can access all of these amazing tools for absolutely free! However, there are time restrictions. For example, you can use the simulators for two hours per day. After that, you’ll need to pay a $5 fee for an additional session.

Learn a new language with Mango Languages and Rocket Languages! 

Earn an accredited high school diploma through the Orange County Library System’s Career Online High School. You must be at least 19 years old and have an eligible OCLS account in good standing.

Take classes at the library and learn a wide variety of skills, including sewing, robotics, pet care, essential oils and web design.

Get homework help in-person at the library during certain hours or online via Brainfuse.
