Ready to be creative? The Maplewood Branch of the Ramsey County Libraries offers an amazing makerspace known as the Brain Box. The Brain Box has a 3d printer that can be used by library members in good standing. The Brain Box also offers amenities like sewing machines as well as coding resources. There are plenty of options for anyone that wants to create something amazing.

The Ramsey County Libraries have plenty to offer even when you’re outside the library walls. With your library card, you can get access to free audiobooks, eMagazines, and eBooks. These resources can be downloaded and streamed from the comfort of your own home. These resources are completely free to library members. The services your library card gets you access to include CloudLibrary, MN Writes MN Reads, Ebooks Minnesota, and RBdigital.
CloudLibrary
CloudLibrary is a great source for free eBooks. Members of the Ramsey County Libraries can check out any of the thousands of titles CloudLibrary offers. You can check out 15 eBooks at a time and keep each book for up to 21 days. You can also request up to 10 titles that are currently checked out. Need help using CloudLibrary? MN Writes MN Reads
You can download a large number of independent, self-published authors that all hail from Minnesota with MN Writes MN Reads. In fact, you can use the platform to create your own eBooks!
Ebooks Minnesota
Another great digital resource for Minnesota authors, eBooks Minnesota is statewide eBooks collection. The service allows you to download a wide selection of works from native Minnesotans. The service offers fiction as well as nonfiction titles.
RBdigital
RBdigital is one of the largest digital media services designed for libraries. Formerly known as Zinio, the service offers eBooks and eMagazines for library members. With this service, you can download some of the most popular magazine titles. You can get current issues as well as back issues. You can also download over 3,500 audiobook titles onto your computer or mobile device with RBdigital. The service has a helpful tutorial if you need help navigating RBdigital.
Join a Book Club or Start your own!
Want to join a book club? The Ramsey County Libraries have plenty of options. Each branch offers its own series of book clubs, and you can keep up with all of the clubs at each branch here. Interested in history? The Roseville branch has a book club dedicated to non-fiction history works. Want more mystery in your life? There are mystery book clubs at both the Shore View and White Bear Lake branches.
Want to start your own book club? You can do that thanks to the Ramsey County Libraries. With the libraries’ Book Club in a Bag program, you can check out up to ten copies of the same book. In addition to the books, the bags also contain discussion questions as well as recommended reading lists. You can keep each bag up to 6 weeks. You are responsible for each book in the bag, and there is a $1 per day late fee for each day the bag is not returned.
