Tons of Restaurants that Give a Military Discount

Tons of Restaurants that Give a Military Discount

Veterans, what is your favorite restaurant to eat at? More importantly, did it make the list for restaurants that give a military discount? I researched and found dozens of fast-food and sit down restaurants across the country that give you a discount!

First, some things to keep in mind.

Many restaurants that give a military discount don’t advertise these discounts. You’ll need to ask for them. They also vary by location, so make sure to call ahead to find out what is available at your local restaurant.

It is important to realize that some deals are for active duty or veterans only, while others are for both. Active duty only deals are in green, veterans only deals are in red, and both are in black.

It is also important to note that these benefits are generally for restaurants off base, not on base. However, on base you are not required to pay sales tax.

Smokey Bones Re-Opens 30% of its Restaurants Recalls Furloughed Employees Free Bag of Hot Donuts, 10 % Off for Military, Discounts for Opening

Aventura, Fla. (May 2020) – Smokey Bones has now reopened about 30 percent of its restaurants in the U.S. for in-house dining and has recalled many of its furloughed employees. This week, Smokey Bones opens Ohio, Kentucky, and North Carolina for in house dining. The 61-unit BBQ brand opened Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee two weeks ago. All of its units offer curbside take-out and delivery.

As part of the re-opening, Smokey Bones will reintroduce its “Happiest Hours” $4/$5/$6 value menu offered between 3 to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to close. The menu, which is printed on paper for one-time use, will feature the Smokehouse Sampler of baby back ribs, pulled pork, jumbo wings, and other fan favorites like fire-grilled salmon, and barbecue chicken. Smokey Bones’ famous burgers will be on the menu as well.

The restaurant will continue to offer a 10 percent military discount, including Veterans through July 5 and, during opening weekend, all customers who order a Family Feast will receive a free bag of hot, house-made cinnamon-sugar donuts with chocolate and raspberry dipping sauces. Or customers that order the BBQ Party Pack will receive two bags of donuts.

Smokey Bones will follow CDC and state guidelines and take all necessary precautions to serve guests while keeping them and employees safe. Some of the safety measures will include spacing tables farther apart to maintain social distancing; masks and glove usage for employees; and rigorous and frequent cleaning of restrooms, dining rooms and waiting areas.

To prevent guests from lingering in the waiting areas, the restaurants will also ask diners to wait outside or in their cars and be called in so they can go directly to their tables. All condiments will be removed from the tables and served individually upon request to eliminate touch points.

“We are committed to re-opening our restaurants in the safest way possible for our employees and guests,” said CEO James O’Reilly. “While the restaurant experience might be slightly different for a while, we want everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy the great Smokey Bones menu and hospitality they know and love. In addition, we are delighted to bring our team members back who elect to work.”

For those who prefer to continue dining at home while still supporting the restaurant, Smokey Bones will continue to offer takeout, delivery, and curbside pick-up for its Monday BOGO Wings, Wednesday BOGO Pulled Pork Platters, Family Feast, Rib Feast and Kids Eat Free with entrée purchase. The restaurant will also offer its new take-home meal kits called Bone Basics, which include uncooked meats and sides with all the ingredients to make Smokey Bones at home on the customer’s own schedule. Smokey Bones also sells essential boxes which contain regular grocery items such as milk, bread, eggs, and toilet paper.

About Smokey Bones Smokey Bones is a full-service restaurant delivering good food, good drinks and good times in 61 locations across 16 states. Smokey Bones serves lunch and dinner and has a full-bar featuring a variety bourbons and whiskeys; a selection of domestic, import & local craft beers; and signature, hand-crafted cocktails. When "military ID" is listed, is this only active military or veterans as well?

Joe, You would have to check with the business directly to confirm, but I would think that it would include veterans as well. -Riley
