There are many exclusive online and on-site tools included for FREE with your Rowan Library card! The library pays for the subscription; all you have to do is log in with your library card credentials!

Chilton Library has all the detailed information you need to tackle vehicle maintenance and repairs. Chilton Guides have been a staple of auto repair for ages – now you can access them all without paying for a single one!

Discover your ancestry! The Rowan Library has many genealogy and historical tools to help you. The Rowan Public Library’s Edith M Clark History Room has records and materials specific to Western North Carolina. They also have computers equipped with  Ancestry.com Library Edition, which will empower you to find your ancestors with Ancestry.com’s specialized tools and databases. Other genealogy resources avialable FREE through the library system include Fold3, African American Heritage, HeritageQuest and the Historic North Carolina Digital Newspaper Collection. Not sure how to get started? Attend a workshop or ask for research help!

Gale Courses provide hundreds of online classes that you can take for FREE! The courses are six weeks long and cover topics such as accounting, business, computer applications, design, composition, healthcare, personal development, teaching, education, technology, writing and publishing.

Learning Express Library is an interactive database that helps you study for and practice academic and licensing tests such as GED, SAT, nursing certification tests, real estate tests and more.

Pronunciator will help you learn 80 foreign languages!

The Rowan Library is a fun place to be!

Computers with ABC Mouse subscriptions are available at the library! Unfortunately, this subscription is only available on the library machines. It is not usable at home.

Movie Nights are scheduled throughout the year. Popcorn and lemonade are served during the movie! Children under age 9 must be accompanied by an adult for all films; for PG-13 films, all children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Summer Reading Programs encourage children, teens and adults to read throughout the summer. Fill in reading logs and win rewards!

Free  Books for Babies!

Rowan Reads to Newborns is a fun program that the library offers to babies born at Novant Rowan Medical Center. While funding remains, every child born there will receive a quality library tote-bag with a high contrast board book, Rowan Reads video on CD, library card application, growth chart and various brochures.
