What You Need to Know
It’s important to understand how senior discounts work at the various businesses you may visit.
First, it is common for not every location to participate. Some national chains like Jiffy Lube offer senior discounts. However, it is up to each individual franchisee to decide whether or not to participate. That means that not every Jiffy Lube locations will offer this senior discount.
Second, many businesses that offer senior discounts limit their discounts to certain days of the week. For example, Kohls only offers their senior discount on Wednesdays.
Third, some businesses may require you to sign up for a marketing list or join an exclusive club in order to claim your senior discount. For example, Ross only offers their 10% off discount to seniors who join their Every Tuesday Club.

Fourth, we tried to avoid including “senior discounts” that require you to make a purchase (such as an AARP card or other discount card) in order to get the discount. In our opinion, if you have to pay to get a discount, it really isn’t much of a discount.
It’s important to understand the rules before you try to use the senior discount.
Simply calling ahead of time and asking, “Do you offer a senior discount?” can help you confirm your location’s participation and make sure that you understand all of the rules about their senior discounts.
