Is the $1,400 Stimulus Check for Seniors REAL?

Is the $1,400 Stimulus Check for Seniors REAL?

A $1,400 stimulus check for seniors is being advertised all over YouTube and the web… but is it real? Will you actually get that money?

Those are good questions. Scams are everywhere these days and it’s hard to know who you can trust.

Fortunately, we’ve done the research to help you make sense of these rumors. In this article, we’ll be discussing the rumors we’ve heard, the status of the fourth stimulus check, and what you need to know about this program.

The Senior Citizens League is pushing for a 4th stimulus check for seniors.

The rumors of a fourth stimulus check for seniors appear to be based on a push from The Senior Citizens League. This organization, also called TSCL, is a non-partisan advocacy group that advocates for seniors by helping them get the benefits they’ve earned.

In a letter to Congress in early October, TSCL Chairman Rick Delaney pushed elected officials to pass a $1,400 stimulus check exclusively for those who receive Social Security.

The letter said, “We’ve heard from thousands of [seniors] who have exhausted their retirement savings, who have started eating just one meal a day, started cutting their pills in half because they can’t afford their prescription drugs, to list just a few of the drastic steps so many have had to take because of what inflation has done to them this year.

“Many have written to us that ‘our government has forgotten about us.’

“A $1,400.00 stimulus check, for Social Security recipients, could be a way to get extra non-taxable income to them.

“We believe that a special stimulus for Social Security recipients could help defray the higher costs some would face if next year’s COLA bumps them into a higher tax bracket, causing higher tax rates on their income and surcharges to their Medicare Part B premiums.”

Who would be eligible for the stimulus check for seniors?

The proposal by The Senior Citizens League would include seniors, as well as those on disability, widowers, dependents of deceased loved ones and others who receive monthly checks from Social Security. The intent is to issue the stimulus benefits to anyone who receives Social Security benefits.

When will I receive my stimulus check for seniors?

Unfortunately, TSCL wrote on their website, “It is unlikely Congress will take action on our proposal this year but if we can build enough support from seniors for it, we are hopeful it can become a major issue next year and that Congressional support for it will grow.”

Basically, even the organization that started this movement acknowledges that it isn’t likely to happen… and if it does happen, it definitely won’t happen right away.

However, it’s important to understand why this is all over the news right now.

The Senior Citizens League knows that Congress most likely will not address their proposal for a stimulus check for seniors before the end of 2021. However, they hope to make it an issue next year by getting more and more people involved in a grassroots campaign to pressure Congress. They are doing this by getting media coverage and encouraging seniors to sign a petition, which is one reason why we’re hearing about this so frequently in the news right now. That’s part of their effort to make this a reality, even though it isn’t a sure-thing yet.

How I can help The Senior Citizens League make this happen?

If you would like to express your support for the $1,400 stimulus check for Social Security recipients, you can do so by signing a petition on The Senior Citizens League website.

Your support on this petition will help them bring a collective voice to Congressional leaders and hopefully push them toward implementing this stimulus program.

Is the $1,400 stimulus check for seniors real?

Yes and no. It is a real campaign being promoted by The Senior Citizens League but the government has not taken any action on it. If you’re scouring the internet for an SSI 4th stimulus check update today, the answer is unfortunately no, it has not been addressed by the government yet.

I spend a lot of time on Youtube. Every time I log on I get ads that tell me I will get stimulus money but I have to "claim" it. when click the button to do so all I get is numbers to call and someone will help me pick and insurance company to enroll. I have selected my insurance company for the following year. I try to get the agent to lead me to the people to contact for the stimulus money but with no luck. This is false advertising to get seniors to change to another insurance provider. If the government intends to help me financially they can find me. But this seems to be designed to get me to contact an agent to sell me on an insurance plan.
