Can you use EBT on DoorDash? The question of whether DoorDash accepts EBT (also known as SNAP or food stamps) is one that’s often asked, since figuring out what you can buy with SNAP benefits can be difficult if you’re not totally familiar with what qualifies. What you can buy with your EBT card can often disappoint or surprise us!
Will DoorDash accept EBT as payment?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. While there are some delivery and online food services that do accept EBT, DoorDash is not one of them.
This is because SNAP restricts EBT cards from being used to buy hot or pre-prepared food. Below is a list of the types of food that you can typically pay for with EBT:
- Seeds or food-producing plants
Although DoorDash will sometimes deliver from grocery or convenience stores, it usually only delivers food from restaurants. Food from restaurants would qualify as food meant for immediate consumption, AKA the hot and prepared food that EBT will not pay for. Because of this, DoorDash hasn’t applied to qualify for people being able to spend EBT cards with them because most of the food they serve would not be eligible for payment through the EBT card.
