What is Double Up Food Bucks Mississippi?

This is the Mississippi branch of the nationwide Double Up Food Bucks movement. This movement strives to use incentive programs to help low income shoppers make healthier choices and get more food for their money.

This program will match your SNAP spending dollar for dollar. That means if you spend $1 on fruits and vegetables with your SNAP benefits, the program will give you an extra $1 so that you can get $2 in produce! You can dollar match your purchases up to $20 per day. That means you could bring home $40 in fresh produce for just $20!

Who is eligible for DUFB Mississippi?

Anyone who receives SNAP benefits in Mississippi is eligible to use this program. There are no sign-ups or extra steps required to double your food benefits.

However, you do have to shop at a participating location (as listed below) in order to get your doubled benefits. This is not something offered by every grocery store or farmers market in the state. It is only available at select retailers.

How does this program work?

This program works differently at different locations. The process to double your benefits at a grocery store is different than the process to double your benefits at a farmers market.

At a grocery store, you’ll usually get a printed receipt that has a coupon for free produce on your next visit. In that case, you’ll need to bring your coupon back on your next visit to claim your doubled benefit.

At the farmers market, you usually need to take your EBT card to the farmers market Welcome Tent or Information Tent to get started. They’ll run your EBT card for whatever amount you specify. You’ll receive tokens equal to the amount you spent, which you can use to purchase eligible products at the market. You’ll also receive a second set of tokens for your Double Up benefits.

The program may work slightly differently depending on your market, but the market manager or customer service representative of your local store should be able to provide you with more information about how the program works.
