Enjoy exciting events for all ages at Roswell Public Library!

The Roswell Public Library consistently plays host to a wide variety of exciting events for various ages. Weekly story time sessions might be geared towards pre-school, early elementary, or for all ages. Adolescents may enjoy crafting steampunk jewelry or Pokemon Go meetups. There are useful classes for adults too, such as adult learning fairs and tax information seminars. Download free eBooks, audiobooks, and music!

The library has access to multiple different resources, including Overdrive, for providing free eBooks and audiobooks. Many of these resources are available through apps that work on most modern mobile devices. The library has a number of handheld players available for audiobooks. Roswell Public Library also enables you to download music online from a service called Freegal Music. There are over 13 million songs to choose from! You can keep the songs forever, DRM-free!

Blind patrons get FREE audio cassettes!

The Roswell Public library also offers a service called Books to the Blind, which provides hundreds of audio books to those that aren’t able to read traditional print. To be eligible, one must be a member of the New Mexico State Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped, which is a subset of the New Mexico State Library. Utilize Roswell Public Library’s digital scanner!

This high-tech scanner can read from a vast variety of stimuli, including books, microfilm, microfiche, opaque objects, and more. In other words, most things can be scanned! Scans can be printed for a fee of $0.15 per page or saved onto a USB drive.

JobNow is a Brainfuse program that provides incredible assistance with everything related to searching for a job. If you need help with a resume, JobNow can provide professional level resources and help. Need help with those pesky interview questions? There are answers here.

HelpNow is another Brainfuse program oriented towards tutoring. HelpNow offers tutoring for all K-12 students, college intro students, and adult learners. Major subjects include Math, Science, Social Studies, and English. HelpNow can help prepare for the GED and the U.S. Citizenship test.

A to Z Maps online is a free database that provides thousands of historic, thematic, and topographic maps.

EBSCOHost is a massive online database that provides tons of information. EBSCO is a great place to start for research on a school assignment!

Fold3 is a free library database that collects military records.

Heritage Quest Online is a database that gathers historical genealogical data from a veritable wealth of sources, allowing one to dive deep into their family’s history.

Mango Languages is a great platform for learning a new language. Mango Languages uses realistic situations as examples to teach, allowing the listener to more quickly learn how to effectively communicate. There are over a dozen languages available!

NewsBank is a database of articles from myriad newspapers across the United States.

Proquest’s eLibrary is a database of media ranging from radio transcripts, newspapers, magazines, maps, and more.

ScienceFix is a great resource to get students interested in science. This interface focuses on making an enjoyable educational experience through subjects such as the science of life, health, humans, nutrition, earth, space, physics, and more. The curriculum focuses on students between 4th-9th grades.

Gale Group is a massive collection of databases that gather information on an extremely vast variety of information. Gale is focused on scholarly content. GaleGroup requires a password, which is available on the Roswell Public Library website.

FastWeb is an absolutely incredible resource that offers scholarships! If you’re a college student, FastWeb is definitely a great resource to check out. Beyond scholarships, other incredible services include college search, financial aid information, and career advice. FastWeb doesn’t require a Roswell Public Library card to access!
