FREE School Supplies in Kent, WA!

Communities in Schools of Kent provides free school supplies directly to the individual schools. The distribution takes place near the first day of school. They also assist with the purchase of alarm clocks, lice medication, clothing, food and more! To apply for assistance, email [email protected].

Food Banks often accept school supplies donations and distribute them to clients who also need food! Contact your local food bank for more information.

King County Housing Authority provides backpacks, some school supplies, financial services and more at their annual back-t0-school event. The 2017 event will be held on August 26 between 10am and 2pm at 4600 38th Ave S in Seattle.  Children must be present to receive a backpack and supplies.

Midway Community Covenant Church provides clothing once per month for anyone in need. Sizes vary from infant to adult. School supplies and other items may be available depending on donations.

NW Life provides over 1,500 backpacks during their annual Great Big Backpack Give event. The event is hosted by NW Life Church and takes place in mid-August each year.

Project Cool provides school supplies to homeless children whose families have received assistance from certain participating agencies. In 2015, over 1,400 kids received backpacks and school supplies through this program!

Salvation Army may be able to provide school supplies to low income Auburn families who need them.

Summer’s Almost Over at Kent Station (SOAKS) is an annual event that takes place at Kent Station. During this event, you’ll see family-friendly vendor booths, fun activities, giveaways and more!

YMCA Kirkland Teen Union Building provides free backpacks, calculators, hair cuts, clothes and more for middle and high school students in King County. They even have makeup artists on-site!

Kent Food Bank & Emergency Services offers a clothing back for people of all ages who reside within the Kent School District boundaries. In addition to school clothes, you can also get work clothes, winter coats and plus-size clothing here!

Multi-Service Center provides clothing to all South King County residents once per month. Residents in the Federal Way School District may also receive food, formula, cereal, baby food and diapers from this organization.

St. James Episcopal Church provides food and thrift-store clothign vouchers to residents of the Kent School District. You may only receive services from this Church once every six months.

St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle King County provides clothing, furniture, beds and other household items for those in need. You may receive a voucher to the SVDP thrift store or the clothing may be provided from a clothing bank. Locations vary. Contact (206) 767-6449 for more help.
