The Gutierrez-Hubbell House Museum is not free, but if you let them know you are unable to pay, they will not turn you away. The museum just asks that people not abuse the “nobody turned away” policy.

The Albuquerque Art Museum offers free admission on Sundays. Since it’s one of the most popular free things to do in Albuquerque, it can get full very quick on these days so keep that in mind before you go. It’s also less crowded during the winter months than it is during the other popular tourist seasons.

The Coronado State Monument is free for residents of New Mexico every Sunday. Wednesdays are also free for NM seniors and kids under 16 are always free! While admission is not too expensive, it’s great to get into the monument for free.

The National Hispanic Cultural Center has an art museum that’s free on Sundays. The Torreon is free on Saturdays and Sundays. You can visit the outside of the building and check out the beautiful architecture any time, but the displays and the inside of the building are only open on the weekends.

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science is free on the first Sunday for NM residents. You must provide the museum with a valid New Mexico ID.
